I’ve seen worse slew foots that the league gets away with but it’s against Mcdavid so they have to make it known. If you guys are expecting consistency, you clearly haven’t been a fan for long.

Draisaitl slewfooted Kopitar in open ice the video is posted above so stfu , Kopitar who is a respected player around the league and plays and has played the game at an elite and high level for almost 2 decades . Also a decorated player who again is respected league wide ! Chit happens FAFO .

There is no doubt, McDavid is the most screwed over player by the Refs in the League, probably in NHL history. They will NOT give this guy calls. Doesn't matter if he's slew footed, hooked, held, tripped, interfered with.

This generations best defenceman attacker, best play driver, and most targeted player should be drawing double the amount of calls he gets.

Please rewatch the game Penguins-Oilers from last week and you will be quiet with this for the rest of your life

I'm a homer but I think the fine is the right move. Kempe has absolutely zero history, he's a gritty but honest player, even Oilers fans pumping blue and orange out can admit that. This retroactively gets him since they didn't in-game--yeah the refs missed it but let's not pretend practically everyone else also didn't--and puts him on record so it doesn't happen again. For all the borderline-or-more plays that either team has gotten away with over the last half-decade series, they got this one right (not in the moment).

It's a rivalry, even if it's one sided. It's going to be edgy. Even the superstars get in the mud on these ones and anyone pretending they don't is burying their heads in the ice.

They didn't see McDavid get away with the high stick on Gavrikov either. Clearly this is worse, but I will say this forever - the biggest problem the NHL has with its referees are the fans, not the missed calls.

Calls get missed, players make mistakes, coaches get things wrong and GMs screw up all the time. Demanding perfection is childish.

We watch sports for the drama, not for something that can be laid out to your personal view of perfection via AI.

Not really much of a slewfoot so I think a fine is appropriate and I hate slewfoots. Hardly lifted his skate up. Worthy of a fine and a 2 minute call.
