A very well known name in TO media circles now back as head honcho of MLSE. Thoughts?

“Keith is a guy who can work a room and has grand ideas that he isn’t afraid to share,” the executive said. “When he was president of Rogers, he was publicly pushing the idea of a grass field at the Rogers Centre, even though that kind of renovation would have cost his company many millions of dollars and probably would have limited the number of events they could host. It never wound up happening, but it shows Keith isn’t afraid to talk about shooting for the moon.”

Hey Keith: here's your grand idea.

We want a hockey luxury tax, not a hard salary cap.

He ran the broadcast consortium for the 2010 Olympics and then became the president of Rogers Media so he was the one that negotiated the current TV deal Rogers is holding onto. Left Rogers to run the Euro PGA Tour.
Sounds qualified

The 5 billion dollar deal Roger’s has with NHL? Well he will fit right in

"Well, we have a bunch of teams and we want them to win stuff like championships and make a lot of money doing so with people watching them and their content. Sell other stuff, jerseys, hoddies, keychains, novelty stuff. Use apps and data or something. Basically what you've seen over the years but more of the same and more of it at higher prices."

As president of Rogers Media, Pelley helped the company orchestrate the acquisition of a 12-year, $5.2 billion rights deal with the NHL.

So now LarryT is going to tell this guy what to do. So nothing has changed, great news. /s

Maybe he can improve the ACC ice quality

They still haven't figured out how to get harder ice.. She needs more power!

Hope he brings a top down bleed of no nonsense hard nosed hockey this team and city deserve…

The hall and oats vibe of Ronald McDonald should be over.

Real men. Hockey. Work.

No Dubas soy boy attitudes.
No fanboys

If Marner is crying over his next contract he should be traded.
He makes a Mickey Mouse play in the playoffs he needs to wear it.

A Stanley cup for this city will change things in a way management can’t even imagine.

A generation, soon to be 2 who think the leafs are a meme.

They flock to raptors instead. Basketball is boring. One man can be a team.

I loathe it. 6’9 athletes crying on contact.

Hockey needs a boost. Not only for Toronto.

Girly goal song is gone.
5’9 Ballerinas are gone.
Dubas estrogenic Billy beane impression is gone
Tre so far made this team tougher not even done 1 year than Dubas whole tenure here.
Let’s see if Keefe grew some hair on his b*lls.

Top down….

Changes

if Shanny / Masai still report straight to the board, it wont really matter

although MLSE has been on the gravy train since 2019

they needed a fresh voice in the boardroom

Another useless suit.
I was listening this morning to a little about him, and the consensus was they brought him in as a mover and shaker.

Unlike previous president's, he will set higher expectations for all of MLSE.

Not that he will be involved with day to day operations, bit brought in to turn the heat up a bit

He'll be working at ownership level so maybe we see some good. I won't hold my breath.
