I don't care what he gets, just happy he's healthy and playing well.
So there are two facts.
1. Kase is a top 6 forward
2. Leafs can't afford to pay him and that will hurt.
So I am wondering, what kind of deal does he get after this season? He's been outstanding in Toronto, used from the shutdown line to the top line and produced regardless.
The UFA market is deflated. The RFA market is not. As an RFA with a scoring history, in arbitration Kase would be paid based on comparable RFAs, not based on recent UFA signings. If it's a deflated market that means he gets less you meant inflated
Using your logic, the Leafs should not give him a qualifying offer. It would be cheaper to sign him as a UFA.The UFA market is deflated. The RFA market is not. As an RFA with a scoring history, in arbitration Kase would be paid based on comparable RFAs, not based on recent UFA signings.
