So there are two facts.

1. Kase is a top 6 forward

2. Leafs can't afford to pay him and that will hurt.

So I am wondering, what kind of deal does he get after this season? He's been outstanding in Toronto, used from the shutdown line to the top line and produced regardless.

Doubt he gets too much with the injury history. If I had to guess 3 years 9 million. If the Leafs want to bring him back they could

I imagine a team wil offer him a 3 year deal for money the leafs can’t afford…. But no one is going to offer him anything longer than 3 years.

great players but injuries are def a big concern for him

Love Kase but he's just not a player any same GM signs more than 2 years for me. He's got that whole Grabovski vibe, where he'll take risky punishment to finish plays even when your team is up 5. Also an RFA.

Why is it a fact "he is a top 6 forward"?

He's eclipsed 30 points once in his career. He played 34 games in the last 3 years combined- major injury concerns.
He's on a stacked offensive team and is on a hot streak right now- and is still only at a 40 point pace.

No team will sign him long term with his injury concerns, and any playoff team would be looking at him to improve their bottom 6, not be a top 6 mainstay.

1 of those two statement is false….

He plays in Toronto so media will say he will get 15 million per. Multiple teams will offersheet him and the leafs are in real trouble. Seriously this is just stupid, as many have said the guy has played an average of 11 games a season for the past three years and we are gonna speculate how much per year this guy is getting. Look he is playing really well, shows grit and a decent 200 foot game but man let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

He’s an oft injuried middle 6 forward. There’s not going to be a bunch of lucrative deals presented to him.

He will be out for the year in a week or two and this thread will be pointless like most threads about Leafs players on this site.

Because he's playing like a top 6 forward and doing it mostly on the 3rd line

It is better now, but at the start of the year tye board was full of pointless threads. There are still some in the polls and the league talk.

You don’t know if the leafs can afford to keep him. Anything can happen in the off season especially if Toronto flops again.

He's arbitration eligible and one year from UFA, isn't he? So he should get paid basically what he would get as a UFA (possibly more due to the deflated current market).

Most common linemates

Kampf 224 minutes
Engvall 156 minutes

Ritchie 55 minutes
Kerfoot 45 minutes
Matthews 38 minutes

Yeah clearly he's producing because he's on this stacked offensive team lol. He's mainly fed a ton of defensive starts with a centre who sucks offensively.

He's an excellent defensive winger who can produce when played with skill. He's had incredible underlying numbers throughout his career. The only question with him is the obvious one, health.

If it's a deflated market that means he gets less you meant inflated
