That is utter bs. During offseason Kakko trains in turku under physical coaches Marko and Hannu Rauhala. Both coaches are respected and have together designed a training method for hockey players. Their clients include Kakko, Mikko Rantanen, Mikael Pyyhtiä, Matias Maccelli and Juuso Pärssinen and they train together. Rantanen has been a client of Rauhala's ever since the beginning of his NHL career. To be fully frank, the only way you’re going to “change” Kakko is to force him to take summer training seriously. He’s never done power skating work, example. Even though it’s been his biggest problem. He trains with his friends. He allegedly worked in his conditioning the last few offseasons with nothing to show from it.
It’s unclear whether he’s just maxed out and incapable of improving or just being lazy.
To say that "Kakko doesn't take summer training seriously because he just trains with friends" tells that you don't know a single thing what you are talking about.
