How about something like this in the offseason?

To SJ:
K'Andre Miller
Jacob Trouba

To NYR:
Quentin Musty
Mario Ferraro
2025 SJ 2nd (currently #34 overall)
Can we change this from Musty to Bordeleau? We lack centers, and even if Bordeleau might not be an NHL center we could use anyone with some middle 6 potential at center.

Sure, but that seems light on value going to the Rangers. Bystedt is probably the guy you want if you're looking for a center but I'd be a little more hesitant to trade him than Musty for that reason.

Yeah, I get what you're saying.

A winger is the last thing we need (that and a RHD). We have Perreault, Othmann, and Berard who are all looking to push into our top 9 for next season. Musty is good, but probably not what we need.

I'd prefer Bystedt, but I don't blame you guys if he's not someone you want to trade.

We will give u Hoglander, 2025 2nd, and u can take Forbort as a sweetener. Good 6’4 guy, can skate like the wind, is the toughest dman in the league, he’s currently NOT injured, and he has the best shot on the team. Honestly I think a 1st round coming back is in order.
Ignore him

1. There are signif # of players dealt in recent years, big trades, approaching 10 total.

2. In addition to the above, some where 3 team-ers, so total assets was even closer to if not 10 or above

3. Your critique of 10 as a hard # is arbitrary.

4. B'c it bends, buckles and breaks in capitulation to the fact that the key factor is quality of deal components if that = profit/worth it, not quantity as overriding.

5. Is unnec. but deal can be restructured into 2 or more deals, e.g., spin Helleson and Robertson in one sep deal.

You are entitled to yr opinion.
I and others thumb up it.

peace out til tom
Like you said in #2, it would involve more than two teams to generally include so many players in a trade.

And yeah, you had a whopping 1 thumbs up. It’s a pretty unrealistic proposal but to each their own. Carry on.

Weird player to evaluate.

Pros
Maybe the best athlete on the Rangers.
Very strong skater
Really good stick defending off the rush when he is on his game.
Decent shot
Likes to join the rush
Physical specimen

Cons
10 Cent head
No fight in the dog
Loses alot of battles he should be winning

Rangers put him up with Fox at #1LD and together they have strong metrics. Rangers keep him on the 2nd pairing and he is a mistake making machine. When he is bad he is brutal. When he is on, it makes you say where has this player been?

Among the Rangers areas of Concern is LD. For that reason i don't think they move him during the season but maybe in the offseason he could be a player that is moved. Espeially with the Cap crunch the team will have next season.

your admission is too limited to be acceptable.
My overriding pt about bottom line is quality of pieces, not quantity, supersedes.

If you feel quality of value is not good, pls feel free to amplify.
But justify your position by showing why.
let the merits prevail

they should keep him unless enuf profit in a deal
should not jettison for sake of moving

Bern, the fact that you routinely come up with trades involving 10+ players or assets changing hands when the only one I can ever remember was the Doug Gilmour to Toronto trade tells me that you are more than a couple of steps off base.

again
quality > quantity
cap and other factors often necessitate large deals
or multiple smaller deals in lieu of, but that is basically tantamount to a larger proposed deal

people want simple solutis to complex probs --- this does NOT = reality
instead
try complex solutions that actually work, and smooth edges where possible, even if after the fact
