I suggested Miller for Zegras last season but probably not realistic in the slightest now. Rangers would likely need another D in return and centers are solidified with Chytil back in the lineup. Although if Zegras was to play wing and fill in as center, and depending on Anaheim's needs, something could likely be worked out with a few extra additions of players/picks.

Where's that one ranger fan on HFBoards that despises K'andre Miller at a molecular level

he's made so many threads trying to dump him for essentially nothing.

I can remember his username

I've always liked him, and wouldnt mind him on the Leafs, but, what could we even offer to make the salary match
Benoit and Jarnkrok (who is still on IL)

but, thats only a bottom pairing d-man and a middle 6 winger or Kampf, but, he's a #4C

...Robertson or Holmberg would likely need to be included, but, then doubt either would find a spot on the Rangers wings, though Holmberg is a C and 'could' be an upgrade over Carrick

Nucks would definitely be interested but I don't think they have anything that makes sense for NY unless its picks or prospects. Hoglander would be available but I don't think he makes sense given teh amount of LWs NY already has.

ANA looking at foundation possible D.
Want to keep McT + of course Carlsson while adding also good Ws
Zegras has issues but also overly shaded

5 for 5 is fair
KAM, Othmann, Lindgren, Vesey, Robertson
for
Zegras, Vatrano, Vaakanainen, Dumoulin, Helleson

We will give u Hoglander, 2025 2nd, and u can take Forbort as a sweetener. Good 6’4 guy, can skate like the wind, is the toughest dman in the league, he’s currently NOT injured, and he has the best shot on the team. Honestly I think a 1st round coming back is in order.

lol. What the hell is this? When do ten player trades happen between two teams? Aside from that, no interest at all from this Ducks fan.

Valimaki, 2024 2nd (Utah), And 2025 2nd (NYR, from Nemeth trade)?

Valimaki is a decent 3rd pair guy who can play up. Seems to be a great locker room guy, as well. Valimaki is there as a reliable body/value add, the offer is really 2 2nd rounders for KAM.

Out to lunch?

Not bad?

How about something like this in the offseason?

To SJ:
K'Andre Miller
Jacob Trouba

To NYR:
Quentin Musty
Mario Ferraro
2025 SJ 2nd (currently #34 overall)
Rangers take this and run. Can Muaty play RW? Rangers have depth on LW in the organization. I do like Musty 's potential

1. There are signif # of players dealt in recent years, big trades, approaching 10 total.

2. In addition to the above, some where 3 team-ers, so total assets was even closer to if not 10 or above

3. Your critique of 10 as a hard # is arbitrary.

4. B'c it bends, buckles and breaks in capitulation to the fact that the key factor is quality of deal components if that = profit/worth it, not quantity as overriding.

5. Is unnec. but deal can be restructured into 2 or more deals, e.g., spin Helleson and Robertson in one sep deal.

Part of the issue with K'Andre is that compromise the Rangers made out of necessity, to keep his cap him down a bit on that "bridge deal"...they were always borrowing on future credit and going to have to pay big on that next deal. Even if he doesn't have a tremendous season...i still think something around the Sanheim deal is the starting point for his next contract ask. Being an older comp signed awhile ago under a different cap environment...it wouldn't surprise me to even have him come in with the Hanifin deal as an asking price. Not sure he'll get it...but whatever you think of him as an toolsy and talented but definitely imperfect player, $6.25M+ seems very much plausible, and anywhere up to $7M on a long-term deal.

So that puts a damper on his "value" in trade i think. It also just really limits the prospective "market" of teams that can, or would want to afford a guy like him at that price as part of their "core" defence group.

Like, i'd certainly have interest in K'Andre as a player from a Vancouver perspective, but i don't think his likely salary demands beyond this year are something that would fit very well into the Canucks cap structure and current salary commitments. I think that'd be a bit of a sticking point with quite a few teams that might otherwise be interested.
