Player Discussion K'Andre Miller

Fire Drury and get rid of the cigar ashes left by Sather. Fumigate the building.
Take out the trash

I've defended Drury for years but his head is on the chopping block with how he moves out this busted core. The shit the Rangers have valued over the last decade is not working.

8 years! 6 million AAV! Id waive K'Andre for nothing before giving him anything close to that. this guy should be looking for real estate opportunities on the west coast because that's where he's gonna be soon.
I would trade him for a bucket of steam or a bag of pucks, just kidding. I think we could get a serviceable player and a couple of picks for him, or nclude him in a bigger deal. Do it while he is still worth something

It's because he's a converted forward and still learning defense. Maybe by the time he's 35 he'll have enough experience to make the right play.
Maybe put him back at forward. Now is the time to experiment

its a tough double-edged sword....if you play him, his value will go down based on his play. If you sit him, there's a perception his value will go down. Its a lose-lose thing no matter what happens with this buffoon.

The lone positive for me out of this season will be the satisfaction of the rest of you coming around to what I've been screaming about for the past 2 seasons; that Miller is putrid. It's not much, but it's all I have.

He waved off Lindgren too. So cocky and entitled and lo and behold it's behind your goalie in the net. Where are the leaders to tell him that's not acceptable. they aren't on the rangers bench (players or coaches), that's for damn sure.
Funny thing is that Lindgren came on for Borgen while Miller joined a rush. Him and Lindgren go back against nobody to get the puck. Miller should have let Lindgren get the puck and while Lindgren waited behind the net, he should have changed for Fox. Miller should not have even been on the ice. Once he gave the puck away he was useless because he was on the tail end of a long shift. Change like you are supposed to, you idiot.

He was great tonight. That’s the infuriating thing about this guy and others on the team. The inconsistency is their downfall.
It's a big part of why it's hard to move on from a player with his skill set. Miller is one of those guys that when there's chaos around him he plays into the chaos and he looks worse and does worse. When there's structure and support around him he really benefits and then shines. He's the exact player that many teams are afraid to trade away and have blow up in there face down the road bc of this skill set. He just needs to mature his game and maintain a calm when shit is going crazy.

Credit to both he and Borgen, they have really been eating up minutes with lots of play in the offensive zone.

The nuclear gaffes are still there but he's much better with Borgen, who looks like what Trouba was supposed to be for us the last few years. Lindgren to me is the real issue on the defense. They need a real 1LD next to Fox and everyone will be slotted correctly.

This isn't targeted at you personally, but I can't take these posts seriously. A week ago half the people that liked you post wanted borgen in the ahl, a month ago vaikenainen was a 7th d, 3 months ago those people said Miller playing with fox would be the top pair, and year ago said trouba was the issue. It's so fairweather and reactionary.

Well i didnt say any of that shit. I wouldve tried K'Andre more on the top pair with Foxy though.

a sweet silence descends on this board, like a thick blanket of snow, swimming out of the trees and shawling out of the sky, carpeting the bustle of a thoroughfare, when Miller plays well and the Rangers win

When Igor and Miller play well there's crickets. You can't even get a lot of the people screaming hate to come in here and say a good game was played (because the thread just devolves into negativity). The funny thing is guys like Miller and Igor have to play every game without a single mistake. If Miller fans on a shot or pass or dyes a strand of hair a different color, it'll trigger some folks here. Meanwhile, Lindgren's thread is buried on page 5.

There were at least a couple seasons and 92-93 is one example when the entire Rangers defense looked like shit and Brian Leetch even looked really bad at times. Chasing after pucks, bad pinches, both defenders caught behind the net, deflecting pucks into their own net, leaving their feet to try to block passes that get through anyway, too many dumbass penalties along with brain dead moments. It seems like one of those years.

Team confidence drops players start not to trust teammates to support in the right way. These things can snowball and it ain't long before the margins of error evaporate which we're seeing right now. The Rangers are going to need 60 standings points in the second half of the season to sneak into the playoffs. That's somewhere around 75% of what points remain. That win % is a tall task for a team that's playing very well and near impossible for a team that isn't and playing confused hockey half the time.

He's not playing confident hockey but Miller I think will eventually get his game back but it's too late for this year. My issue now as far as he's concerned is his upcoming contract. If he wants too much I'm getting rid of him. I'm kind of like looking at Chytil's contract as where I'm at with him. 4 years at about $4.5. You might give K'Andre 4 years at $5. If that or something in that neighborhood is not good enough for him I'd be thinking of moving him.

Keeping all that in mind the LD position is a team weakness and he's still our best option to keep going forward. Lindgren is going, Jones is going. Vaakanainen is a bottom pair guy--7D. Fortescue looks like a great stay at home prospect but we'll see what we see when he turns pro.
Agree with everything other than additional factor that he potentially can bring a boatload via trade. His problem is mental and often players fix these with age. But at what point it becomes futile to wait for this fix to happen and accept that he’s always going to be this flawed player.

Both guys go months of playing bad games, especially Igor. Is the bar really "play a good game once in a while?" That's a 3 million dollar player, not an 11.5M player and whatever KAM will get. I actually like KAM and think he should play with Fox but you expect one or two games to outweigh like 20?
