Health is really the only concern with him. If he stays relatively healthy, we're laughing with that contract.

The problem with Guhle was never been on ice. Just like Dach, they just need to be healthy. Both are amazing players to watch.

As he gets older, he'll get stronger. I'm really not worried about Guhle - or Dach - both will be fine and both are key to this rebuild.

Is there an NHL comp for a lefthanded defenseman playing on the right side at high level, obviously theres tons that play their offside on the 3rd pair but I feel there is not a lot that play their off side on the 1st pair?

allright, so its uncommon, but doable I guess! I am just wondering whats the plan, is he playing on the right side only until Matheson isnt there anymore? or maybe its just not a big deal at all for MSL ? he is playing real solid, but maybe he'd be even better on the left side?

I’d my memory serves correctly the Ducks used to play Niedermayer on his off side with Pronger back in the day

They were often on separate pairings so that one of them was on the ice almost all of the time. I just can't remember which one played with Beauchemin who was also a lefty.

They didn't rotate but special teams played a large role in icetime. They would put Pronger and Niedermayer together at crucial points usually at the end of the game in the last couple of minutes.

Beauchemin certainly played less than these two when all 3 were healthy and was not in their class of dmen even though he was very good himself and one of the worst cuts that the Habs heve ever made.

I remember being so disappointed when they lost Beauchemin. He was a great player for Hamilton.

I think the only question regarding Guhle at this point is if he can stay healthy. He's an absolute beauty.

Let me know if jake can play his off wing, first with a vet who sucks on defense, second with a calder-candidate.. eitherway, Guhle is our top 2 LHD. HUTSON is our 2LD and PP1..

It 100% is higher. He's just better everywhere.
