Player Discussion Kaiden Guhle

That has nothing to do with fragility, it’s a freak accident, I call BS
Freak accident or not, some people are destined to have that bad black cloud upon their head that will follow them for their entire career/life. In Asian culture, it's called Feng Shui. You can believe it or not, up to each person.
Guhle is trending in that direction sadly.
Every injury he has is a step back in his hockey development. We all know it won't be his last injury. That's just how it is for those players. As a good gm, KH should recognize that situation and trade him asap. If some teams offers him a 1st round pick for Guhle, he shouldn't hesitate at this point. Like if the best offer is a 3rd round pick, then keep him and pray.

I’m not saying some players aren’t more injury prone, but this one doesn’t count in my opinion, and thank god previous Habs GM didn’t think like this and traded Markov for a first rounder because of his multiple injuries. Same could have been said about Crosby and his concussions. Guhle isn’t fully physically mature yet, some of these players get a lot of injuries as young players and then become durable later in their career, same happens with pitchers in baseball.

Rocket Richard had tons of injuries to the point where Montreal wanted to trade him. Fortunately, they didn't.

Guhle's had some injuries but there's absolutely no reason to think he's done or we need to move him or it will always be this way.

We don't have any info on the severity of the injury. There's a difference between "suffered a calf laceration" and "severed his achilles tendon."
You're gonna have to trust me bud

Odds are his season is over
This is a months to recover injury unfortunately

Slicing ghe quadriceps itself is a while
His skate looked more like it clipped the tendon sooo.. yeah

The Habs should start to inquire asap what direction is pointing everyone but Gallagher's bed right now if that's all it takes. I knew there was a reason my auntie always beat me at Horse with a basketball...

People said the same thing about Markov..........missed a ton of time over a few seasons, with freak injuries..........and finished his career with missing almost no games over the next 5-6 years, so..........

Sucks for Guhlie, and the Habs, and the fans.............look for a return next year in camp, sounds very serious and no way he comes back this season....

Let's also not ignore Markov had lost a step, which Subban compensated for.

We won't be getting too high a pick now thanks to our insane run.

But when you think about it, our current 'core' players were all mid round picks and beyond. Suzuki, Caufield, Guhle, Hutson, Dobes . Monty , Jackeye etc..

Bustslofsky is our only top pick right now. You can build a monster of a team if you get it right after pick #10

Soon to come - Demidov and maybe Reinbacher (who knows what this kid is going to do)

Dang.

Rare positive, dare I say inspiring and motivational post from @Habs.

Fair point.

If you saw Markov play live at the Bell centre and concentrated on him for an entire shift at a time, you could see that his smarts, positioning and anticipation compensated plenty for any lost step, not Subban.

GTFO with your "if you were".

He lost a step and Subban was the one carrying the puck. I know full well Markov's smarts helped, but he did lose a step and Subban helped in that regard.

He cut himself with his own skate, completely on his own?

Bruh
I’ve seen it happen or I did it to myself once I can’t remember. I think I fell the same way once and had a bruise and a superficial cut. Or I saw it on tv. Or both.

Between Reinbacher injuring himself and requiring surgery, and now Guhle doing the same,

We must have the most clumsy young D Squad in the league.
I think we have enough of a fanbase to really get luge hockey on the map and just avoid all this leg injury nonsense (is that what it’s called when you sit and have two sticks?)

Audette was never the same. He was tearing it up tho before that injury from what I remember.
ClassIc MO of the CH for the past 30ish years. Just as players become stars (in their own right) they seem to suffer catastrophic injuries (always during playoffs).

Off the top of my head:
Saku- effing eye
Audette - wrist
Patches- spine
Zednick- neck
Price- knee
Evans - decapitation

feel free to add...
