It's funny...every player has to be flawless and perfect and have no holes. Big deal that kakko doesn't have a good shot...he's got just about everything else. Not everyone has a howitzer. I'd say kakkos shot is one of the weakest on the team.. I also think he's got room to fix it because a lot of his issues aren't with velocity, they are with timing. You can score with a weakish shot if you have a good release. I haven't really seen kakkos release on his 1 timers because he doesn't really take one. He accepts the puck and decides what to do. When he gets more confident hell shoot more and quicker. And I'm sure the more he works on itthe better he will get.

But as things stand right now, kakkos shot is just not a weapon... And teams aren't respecting it anymore.. they are playing his pass, especially the royal road pass.

It's like when @Kovalev27 and myself criticized lias for not having a motor. People kept saying he had. Amotor. What motor?

Right now everyone loves kakko...I love kakko, but they're inflating his actual skill set. It happens every year.

It would be nice to have a pool to know how many of us like Kakko and thinks he is the future, and what percentage thinks otherwise.

Do you intend on not waiting longer than a couple months of his NHL career?

He doesn’t shoot enough.

Yeah he really doesn't shoot that much.

I dont think anyone is saying he has shot like Laine or Matthews. It's More like something Rantanen or Aho.

It’s ok, you were wrong and got called out for saying he has a terrible shot. Just own it instead of writing up novel.

Trolling again? Careful Fly..you might get banned again. How many would that be now?
Should probably look up the word trolling so you dont misuse use it again.

You’ve been here long enough that you shouldn't throw a temper tantrum when one of your opinions gets disagreed on.

There's a difference between saying his shot is weak (which is wrong) and that it's a weakness (which i half agree with, half don't)

IMO his shooting issue is him not thinking fast enough/not used to NHL speed/being confident with what to do.

It's coming, he's close...

Yes, he is trying to *think* the game and always make the smart play... but as the Japanese martial artists knew centuries ago, *no mind* (Jp. Mushin) is much faster than thought.

His shooting issue isn't from his shot its the fact he hasn't been shooting it that often so far. Something he will hopefully grow out of as his career progresses. I don't remember his shot being a weak point last year

Kakko's not having an abnormal rookie season for a #2OA.

Didn’t someone point out in his D-1 season that he only begun to shoot more in the second half of the Liiga-season? I think it was on the main boards. Maybe that’s how it will go this time around too?

Yes.
Kakko has few Finnish fans that think he is basicly perfect player.
But if you look him in objective way it is clear he is far from it.

Same thing was with Puljujärvi. Dont know if these people only see highlights reels or what.

He's literally having the same issues Chytil was having last season and look how far Chytil has come along in just one offseason. The cream will eventually rise to the top. It's not like he's got a shitty work ethic or something that's holding him back... the only thing that really stands in the way of him becoming a force is time.

He doesn't look lost. He looks awkward and discouraged at times, but never out of place for an 18 year old. He could easily have 4-5 more goals with his play and probably a few more A's, it's a total growth and adjustment thing going on. Boy oh boy you can see it all just bubbling to the surface though. Kid is going to be a complete beast when he's fully done growing and adjusting to where he needs to be.

I am so *not* worried about KK. And I really hope DQ continues playing him with the top guys. I’m no expert but I think it’s the absolute best way to develop him. And that’s what his pedigree has earned him. In fact, I think developing KK should be a higher priority than winning. I’m not joking. Staple him to Panarin and/or Zib. Play him with Lemieux too. Lemieux has communicable balls. (Sorry)

Oh no feel free to show me one whenever it happens. He definitely doesn't shoot enough but when he does... Sigh.
The passing up of shots on quality opportunities is a bit worrying. Long term he will be fine, but he needs to learn that worked for him in Liga is probably not going to fly in the NHL.

I think he’s going to be a monster. He’s doing pretty much exactly what I expected of him this season.

watch the leap from year 1 to year 2.

people told me Chytil wasn’t a center because he was struggling defensively as a 19 year old after I watched him dominate the AHL at center as barely an 18 year old. Look at him now. He looks tremendous.

I’m not worried about Kakko at all. He’s a shy kid too he needs to gain that swagger he had in Finland and he will grow up into a beast before our eyes. Pucks aren’t going in right now but he’s playing much much better.

Am not worried in the least. A bit frustrated at some of the dipsy doodling, yes. But not worried long term. It was my view that a rookie campaign like Barkov was far more likely than being a 50 point player.

I think he just fell into the team concept as a whole.
