Value of: K’Andre Miller

A late 2nd.

Zib does not have much value when he controls his destiny wherever he goes. An NMC throughout the entire duration of his contract is insane. Hard to extract any kind of value in that. We already have an aging Kadri, but with a modified NTC down the road in the case that he needs to be traded.
His NMC and buyout proof contract suck, yeah. On the other hand, Calgary seems to have a SERIOUS lacking in center prospects / kids. All other positions are okay, but there aren't high-end kids coming gunning for top 6 roles. If they draft any on Friday, those kids are multiple years away and won't need waivers until 2029 at the earliest.

I think rocking with Zibanejad for a few years (center or wing), with 4 years or less of Kadri and then also Frost giving a chance at a top 9 C role too could work. Let the winger kids come in and play with vets, and start drafting centers now so that they're entering the lineup at 2029, 2030, etc.

As for Miller, he would look good at LD on Calgary. Give him 2 or 3 years to establish whether he'll be here for a long long time, or is just a stop-gap. Miller Bahl Grushnikov in the medium-term plans.

My understanding of Miller is that he's clearly regressed over the past couple seasons, no? But now he's up for a bigger contract, including a qualifying offer a fair bit higher than his current deal? To me he's in the exact same category as Nikita Zadorov before the Avs traded him: all the tools; not putting it together; wants a big deal. Lots of teams will be interested due to the tools (size), which means some of the suggestion here are clear underbids, but I think all of these teams will be approaching Miller as a project...which means his value is probably a late 1st rounder at best. The OPs request is what the finished project would return, and Miller very much isn't that.

The suggestion of the Dallas pick from the Sharks is an excellent one I think. Maybe a bit of an overpay, but right pick placement; right team in a position to swing on a project with upside. That type of trade or the Rangers find a way to add him with several several other pieces (prospects/picks) for something bigger.
