He’s done… shrimp goalies don’t hold up apparently.
Annunen has EASILY been our top goalie hands down.

Come on now. There isn't a goalie in the league that would look good behind this horrendous defense. Not to mention Burnette's terrible system that constantly leaves the goalie out to dry.

Saros is still a good goalie. Probably more like top 10 than top 5 like before. But he still has all the skills and speed he used to so maybe his stats would flip back once he gets out from behind the absolute dumpster fire in front of him in Nashville.
Anyway it’s kind of a moot point now. Trotz isn’t going to trade him, he already made up his mind that Saros was going to be his guy, and that case is closed.
I don’t imagine any other teams will want that contract anyway. With the rising Cap it’s going to be a bit of a bargain for a quality starter as far as AAV goes. But the term is a huge problem. I assume we couldn’t even give Saros away now.
Just have to chalk it up as another big mistake by Trotz.

Nashvilles on ice play is so laughable and it tanks Saros' stats. Now i understand how Anaheim feels about Gibson.

While I hate the contract and Saros hasn't been greater this season, the team in front of him is making it way worse.
Go look at the starting defensive pairings from lastnight, and then realize Brunette plays one of the dumbest systems you will ever see and then you start to realize that goalie is the least of our problems.
