Auger never had NHL potential. It was an odd draft selection. He is a big guy. That's it. Poor mobility, doesn't think the game well, mediocre skills. Not too sure what the Kings saw in him beside size and that's not enough to make the NHL. I'd be shocked if he is even given a QO this off-season.

Will need a hell of a summer for that to happen.

Ever? Don't want to say never, especially with another NHL team joining the fray, but most Kings fans aren't expecting him to ever play for the Kings except for those that like to pencil in Ontario's top six as the Kings opening night bottom six.

He's come a long way since being drafted, but that being said its not enough. My dad for some odd reason is infatuated with him though and thinks he could be a serviceable 4th line forward. I disagree as I don't think his skating will ever be good enough for the NHL.

I always hoped he would develop into a bottom 6 NHL forward, but he's one of those guys that gets overrated because of his size.

He's ain't no Steve Mckenna apparently.

He showed flashes, that's for sure. And he's sure grown as a player. But as others have said he was always a long shot. I guess never say never, but he's not gonna force a team to give him a shot imo.

He had at least 1 or 2 significant injuries this season, after getting 19 Gs in 2015-16.

That didn't help.

He'll be given a shot as the 14th FW for a time in the fall, perhaps.
