Which, in hindsight, was probably a mistake.
The Rangers went 11-9-1 down that stretch after the trade deadline (a little more than the last 1/4 of the season) for a .548 points percentage, compared to the first 3/4 where they had a .705 point percentage.
The lack of depth and the taxing system they played wore them down. They limped into the playoffs and struggled against inferior teams.
Of all the years to spend a 2nd or 3rd rounder, it was that year. Funny how Sather works.
Does Sather work? Thats like an oxymoron. Unless fishing and smoking cigars counts as work
