Just how bad does Boyle have to suck...

Anyone who calls Boyle "the worst forward in the NHL" while having the dubious "privilege" of seeing Taylor Pyatt every time they tune in to a Ranger game has no idea what they're watching.

It goes further than Pyatt. D.Moore has been dismal. I'm willing to give him another 10-15 games to get it going, but if he doesn't look completely rejuvinated by game 20, Moore has outlived his usefulness as an NHLer. Asham has been already sent down because he can't keep up anymore. And Dorsett is actually actively hurting this team with the discipline of a toddler on sugar rush.

Boyle, while largely anonymous, has been significantly better than the dregs of NHL's bottom lines Sather collected. And then there's the No. 4 overall enigma, The Pouliot. Fun times.

Does anyone know our record from last year to this year with Boyle playing as our 3rd line center? Curious to see. We were very average last year until Brassard/Richards took over as the 3rd line center from him and he moved to wing.

He doesn't use his body to make hits, that's why he's 2nd on the team in hits and 1st amongst forwards. He doesn't use his body to protect the puck and that's why he's one of 5 players, 4 forwards, who have a giveaway:takeaway ratio of 1:1 or higher. He doesn't use his body to challenge the opposition and stickup for teammates and that's why he got 4 minutes going after Brad Stuart. Pft, this guy's a "nobody", we should dump him. :banghead:

Great post, man. The amount of flack this guy gets is just absurd.

I know the team performed very well when Boyle was benched.

I still want to know why the boys played so well with Boyle scratched...

Boyle is the #1 escape goat.

Cause the pk didn't suffer with him out of the lineup and that's the sum total of his positive contribution night in and night out. Was that rhetorical?
