I'm not saying that this will happen or that Tampa should even consider.

2 years/$9.5 million AAV remaining after this season, which is an absurdly great value. His contract is also passed any NMC restriction, so he has a 10 team trade list.

Say Tampa decided they won't win more cups with the current group and wanted to aggressively rebuild, but also won't settle for bad value. You have to figure all 10 teams on the list would be interested.

What would teams be willing to offer?

Didn't you already answer your question? Who of those 10 teams has the Cap room to make any kind of reasonable offer without including a major Cap dump back? Narrow it down. Meanwhile TB is not in a rebuilding phase either. Push this question out a couple years, maybe? :dunno:

OP was very clear, yet there's always that person who can't even address a hypothetical "for fun" question...wow. Teams would absolutely find a way to accommodate that cap hit too, swing and a miss there. 9.5 for a player of that caliber with an increasing ceiling wouldn't be too much of a hassle to navigate. Move a quality piece in the deal, or find a separate taker if you really need to dump salary.

I'd guess an established NHL player or two on good deals, and at least two high picks or blue chip prospects.

The sun, the moon and all the stars! Hands down the best playoff record of any active player still playing at the top of their game and a very reasonable cap hit to boot
