For several years now ive had a debate with multiple posters here when we argue cap management and roster building
They tell me a team might only have 21 or 22 guys on the roster
I try to point out how there is often more than 23 contracts counting against the cap
Take us for example today... we have 16 forwards counting spooner and cehlerik... we have 8 dmen but mcquaid is on ltir so not all his money is counting... we got 2 goalies
Thats 26 contracts counting
This is why teams will always leave some unspent money in their budget and why you must plan on a full 23 man roster
