Where would you prefer Slaf spend his 23-24 season?

Will you treat today’s game with honesty? I have my doubts.
Honestly, I didn’t watch it. It’s preseason and there is a bunch of hopeless rubbish on both teams. Sorry to disappoint.
I’m certain that your suggestion of sending Slafkovsky to Finland is « putting egos aside » - sounds like the type of thing Babcock would say to a player before destroying their lives.
Calm down, you’re acting hysterical.

Some people on here forget the kid is 19.. i hope the fanbase will finally show some patience with a high end prospect. He's gonna be a beast at 22-23
Strange you say this but have nothing to say about the Habs putting him in the NHL.

It’s like wanting to hold your cake and eating it too. Attack the fans and media for something that is squarely the responsibility of the organization. That way you remain a Good Fan no matter what happens.

Believe me we all want him to become the best player he can become.

Exhibit A on why everyone says you participate in bad faith. You’re not a serious person
I didn’t make any comment on the last game whatsoever and was quoted by that other user to make a comment on Slafkovsky’s performance! What do you want, for me to lie? It’s preseason, you can’t expect grown adults to watch every damn game.

If I ever talk out of my ass you’d be the first to jump down my throat, I’m not worried about that.

Where he’s lucky to get a .5 ppg.

No draft 1st period. Let alone a 1OA. If he hits 10 pts in his career we’ll be lucky.

1st puck touch he flips the puck with one hand to send Dach on a breakaway. Scores a goal then has a shift where he protects and keeps the puck along the boards on two different occasions.

Can’t even watch him anymore. I just wanna puke
I’m not sure where this post is going, but I don’t think anyone said any of this. I don’t think he would dominate the AHL and there is nothing wrong dominating your peers before being promoted to the hardest league in the world.

They know who they are. :) I’m not posting a list.

And no, it’s not difficult to back up either.

Watch for it yourself. They’re out there.
They know who they are. How did I know that would be the response before it was even written.

I know we are traumatised with KK and Galchenyuk and we are not used to having a stellar prospects but it starting to look more and more like we nailed this one. MONSTER PERFORMANCE YERSTERDAY. We will all have a lot of f***ing fun when we all rally behind our true 1st overall pick.

I won’t bother to check who they are, but they need to exist. The board was 80some% wanting Wright before the draft and Cooley was just an afterthought. The people that don’t like the Slaf pick will give an alternative pick, and now the big name is Cooley.

Nonetheless, I strongly defend the idea that Management is completely responsible if they missed with Cooley. Just as much as Wright. When you have 3, maybe 4 forwards to keep track of, you don’t f*** up. It’s an error you can’t make.

I really like Slaf with Monahan and Dach. It is the perfect place for him to learn and develop. Monahan as the vet, can show him a lot and help to calm him when he makes a mistake or gets a little lost.

Dach can relate to Slaf as someone who took a little bit of time to mature (play wise) and is now hitting his stride. He is a perfect model for Slaf. Not to mention, he can shoulder a lot of the physical game and take pressure off Slaf to be that guy.

Slaf and Dach tied together for the next bunch of years will be hell to play against. Add in a defense including Xhekaj, Mailloux and Guhle. That is a lot of big speedy men.

I don’t agree. You can’t scream for one player and then bash the team for not drafting another if/when he pops. If it was that obvious, then why were people screaming for the wrong guy who went way later? Moreover, Cooley wasn’t even the next one picked.

It’s cherry-picking after the fact.

You got me. They don’t exist.

Slaf must’ve had a good game last night. Beforehand the poll was pretty close, now it’s solidly in favour of him being in the NHL. :)

Him, RHP and Dach demolished the Sens last night. It started with Dach going crazy puck hunter mode and then Slaf scored on a rebound. After that Slaf went full cocky mode for the rest of the game (but he barely played in the 3rd because of all the punitions).

Looked good tonight vs an ahl roster, didnt look out of pace, exactly why I hope he stays in the ahl all year logging minutes and getting lots of PP time.
Correction: he played against half an AHL roster and toj wqant him to tqake the next step by going to full AHL roster opposition.

This looks and feels like nothing but stubbornness.

Watched a bit, he was on fire in the second period, might just be his chemistry with Dach im not sure.
We could ask for a special exemption to demote Dach alongside Slaf for 2 weeks not for his own conditioning but officially for "fan conditioning and satisfaction" purposes.

Think of the extra confidence both players would get.

In fact, the first week would be in the ECHL, the second week in Laval.

I would not be surprised if after the end of the two week period, Dach would not surpass Suzuki by a mile and rival the top-5 centers in the league, having potted a few goals through the five hole, and two more from bad angles ...... while also perfecting his breakaway skills!

I know it is a sneaky way to accelerate Dach's development, but if the league gives permission, why not?

And of course Slaf should be in line for the All-Star game in Toronto.

Regarding the poll: if he plays like he played his game Monday, then NHL.

If between now and the end of camp he regress or is still too inconsistent, then AHL.
So seeing as last night he did not play "like Monday" - now what? ECHL? OHL? Austrian league?

Can we talk about Slaf in his own thread, please

He’s starting to show a glimpse of what he will become and that player is gonna be a unique dominant one. No one will talk about Cooley or Wright or Nemec anymore in a few years or months even.
Glimpse is the word I used the other night. The talent is there. He shows it in flashes. As he improves that talent will show itself more frequently. Hopefully he gets to the point where he shows it on a consistent basis.

As I said last year, he’s not who I’d have picked. But having seen his play, I understand why they picked him. The potential for a really good player is there.

The big question is whether or not he can put it all together. High ceiling, just don’t know if he’s going to reach it.

What I find interesting about Slaf is that he’s most comfortable high up in the offensive zone, kind of like Dach.

Well he played better than Monday... so he's heading in the right direction. Unless a big surprise, I don't see him going in the AHL.
What’s positive about Slaf is that his regular season was better than his camp. And now this pre-season has been better than last years regular season.

We’re seeing his game progress in the right direction. No stagnation so far which is very positive.

Disingenuous drivel.
