First 2 goal game last night. Continues to grow exponentially. Plays a heavy game. Previously, even his most ardent backers (like me) identified his shot as something he needs to work on.

He might not ever be the offensive juggernaut that other first overalls were, but he’s still going to be a good player. The bust talk about an 18-year-old was nonsense.
The haters, just love to let it flow...............the kid was chosen, and we were all told he would be a work in progress....................and here we are.
The last 15-20 games he has been very solid on his line with NS and CC.
He is a fun player to watch.
He will continue to develop as he moves forward. Habs have a good young player here. Best in his draft class, although be it a weaker draft, so...............

His progression is parabolic. His shot was a concern but you can see he can unload (see 1-timer on pp) and has confidence now rather than trying to tee up Caufield.

Defensively he is improving rapidly. Once he gets man strength- watch out!

5pts in last 5 games.

So glad he was picked 1OA. He was the wright choice!

Crazy to think he is not yet 20 years old.

He can become scary good. I think his overall physical package, paired with the skillset he is taunting, may make him more than a "weak 1OA". He will not be a McDavid/Hughes/MacKinnon level of 1OA, but possibly better than a Hischier/RNH/Power.

All drafts don't include a perennial all-star, but he is still a special player.

But those guys are considered weak 1st overalls. He can not be a top tier 1st overall pick and still be very good

Not even 20 yet. Some of the times I've seen him play, you can tell he has immense potential to go with that size.

A bigger bodied Joe Thornton took a few years to get going before taking over the league. I'm definitely not suggesting he is going to have a Joe T. type of career, but he has all the tools to be a very good and dominant player for a long time. He certainly won't be considered as one of the all-time 1st overall busts in a couple years time as has been whispered a bit.

Like Byfield everyone rushes to judgement. He‘s gone from being a bust to arguably the Kings best forward (on form) being dragged down by Kopitar and Kempe.. Trevor Moore our second best guy currently. People need to be patient and realise that its not all about how quickly guys get out of the gate.

Someone else posted this but:

21 points in the last 40 GP
20 points in the last 35 GP
15 points in the last 21 GP
7 points in the last 8 GP

I'm telling y'all, we've got another JT Miller on our hands.
Only 2 inches taller and about 20 pounds heavier.

Also, Slaf is going to get started on that peak performance much sooner than Miller did.

Ill be happy with peak Miller, for a longer period, and with that size.
