Player Discussion Juraj Slafkovsky Discussion

Demidov and Slafkovsky are different type of players, but they have 2 important qualities to become special players, hard working and talented (Like Hutson). Slaf is a very talented playmaker, he have great hands aswell. Not like Demidov, for sure, but he can put some magics with his stick.

Slafkovsky can explode at any moment and when he is going to explode, he is going to be such dominant player. He have 194 hits this year, that's a solid progression at that department.

I'm very high on him.

Let me tell you something,

Slafkovsky hasn't even begun to peak,

And when he does peak, everyone will know,

Because he's gonna peak so hard that everybody in the NHL is gonna feel it.

Slaf should PK next year. It suits his game so much and might help fine tune some of the details for a young player.
Skilled players should stay as far as possible from the penalty kill as possible. Too valuable to lose to injuries and too easy too fill a void.

Plus, the top players are then fresher than the opposing top playees, which often leads to a defensive mismatch.

We have a bunch of depty players that have good skillsets for the PK.

Not sure I would describe Slaf as hard working.... He puts a few games together and then coasts, to my eyes anyways.

I expected and hopes for more consistency this past season. He was… okay. He had some really good stretches, he’s shown he can be a good player… he needs to find a way to do it game in and game out.

He just need to shoot more often. Not an easy task when you're playing on the first line with Suzuki and Caufield. If he gets paired with Demidov next season I think we're going to see the real Slafkovsky.
