Player Discussion Juraj Slafkovsky Discussion

Everyone talks about Demidov and Hutson, but Slaf have all tools to become a very special player out there aswell. Only 21 years old. Big guy takes time, but he show great thing since last year.

Both 2nd half of season have been amazing for Slaf.

He have potential to produce much more. He can be a total beast two-way physical with 75-85 pts per year.

When he's on like he was tonight, he's one of the most valuable players in the league. I can't say enough good things about his game. Having a guy who can physically dominant, be responsible defensively, attack the net, dominate the boards, make skilled plays AND has one of the better visions/passing is so, so valuable. I'm not sure if he'll ever be consistent, but the times he puts it all together he's a special player.

Great game, moved his feet, kept it simple. He's not the powerforward or the star forward we need, but as I've been saying, he can still be a pretty useful player. Some struggle early but he's starting to be really good defensively, aside from the usual brain cramps.
Averaging more points per game than 95% of the other players mentioned in this thread at the same age.

Stop being a hater.

"He's not the powerforward or the star forward we need"

Why do you keep doing this?

Such a breath of fresh air when he is the Slafsquatch. I’ve never seen a player like him for the Habs.

He will be not just interesting but FUN to watch in the playoffs.
I hope we see it all playoff long. Last night was the player we drafted when he went 1OA. Big man using his size and body to retrieve pucks, set up plays, create space for his teammates and he even had 2 shots!! 😉

You don't remember John Leclair?
Significant portion of this board don’t, but that’s who Slaf’s game should be modeled after. Big body for puck possession / protection, win board battles & crash the net - all of which he did last night after overcoming early jitters

I wonder if blonde Slaf means he’s Super Saiyan and unlock a whole new level.

Like everyone else said, when he is on, he is a very dominant player. The issue is consistency but at just 21 yo (recently), it's just normal because even if he is already big, he isn't mature physically. So it's too demanding for him to dominate that way each and every game. He will get there in 2-3 years, just in time when we start contending for a cup.
