Player Discussion Juraj Slafkovsky Discussion

I dont know if he will ever be an elite player in the NHL but hes at least a solid 50-60pts offensive player. We already knew he was not McDavid-Mackinnon level of 1st overall pick but hes still pretty good
These fake compliment posts are the best. Kid is already a 50-60 points player. Good thing we didn't pick useless players like Carlsson or Fantilli, those busts might not even score 50 points in their D+2!

Those guys will get better. Slaf won’t.

Only every other young player will get better except Slaf. Big kids are always finished products at 20. Well Slaf is at least, every other big player takes time.

Imo His defensive play on that goal is an example of why the Habs approach to his development was spot on.

He makes defensive reads and executes on them at a much higher level than the typical skilled top 6 player his age... and not the kind of thing one easily develops when focused on putting up big numbers while "dominating" lower levels.

The habs & Slaf were aligned in helping him build winning habits from day one. The "cost" was sacrificing some early production, the payoff we are watching unfold in real time.

He's going to be a dominant NHLer in his prime. Ppg + player that cam ahitvdiwn opposition top players.

Future is bright 😎

It blows me away how people can still whine about him.

He's producing at a very good 5 on 5 pace, similar to many established top line guys. All of that while being responsible in the dzone and especially neutral zone at his age.

Imagine if he could become that Marian Hossa kind of player. A 35-40 for 75 points avg while playing a two way game. If he could develops those defensive attributes and with his size and board & net presence... a real beast in every sense of the word. I'm still picking Slafkovsky 1st overall in a redraft 100% any day.

I like slaf but if you are taking him over #48 in a redraft you have lost your mind

There's not a big jump in production this year, but in terms of substance to his game, there is definitive progression.

Just hoping to see more aggressiveness and assertiveness in 1 on 1 battles all over the ice.

Hutson was never in the discussion for 1st overall. It was between Wright, Cooley and Slafkovsky. I believe the habs made the right choice. I completely forgot Hutson was in the same draft. Amazing draft by the Habs. Might end up with the 2 best players of that draft year... insane

I love how he pissed off every Czech player on the Bruins' team. Was dominant physically and had some great passes and scoring chances. Impressive improvement compared to his rookie season. He just needs to learn to be second half Slaf all year long now.
