You can watch his highlights from five different months of last season, maybe you will finally spot some positives about him.Oi! Every time I take a peep to see Montreal play expecting to see the exploding unicorn beast chap that was predicted here, he implodes instead, looks like dung. The only flattery he deserves is he is a big body and that's not good enough.
It's coming. You will become a fan like us. I feel the shift happening in you..At this level you can dig up any excuse of this kind for any player. I'm not sure it's worth stating, even.
Slaf's floor is high enough that he can be an interesting factor in a playoff series. If he puts his game together he can be a decisive player but there's a long way from here to there. I don't purport to know his internal mechanisms but I've never seen a player with these tools and mobility make so many little mistakes, it's like hockey was always easy for him and he never really had to "solve" it -- it's a good thing, if he stops making these mistakes his effectiveness on the ice would fly up and he'd be a force.
I’m not interested in tools but no toolbox players. I think some fans here are still holding their breath for Andrei Kostitsyn’s breakout season (next year). It's coming. You will become a fan like us. I feel the shift happening in you..

Andrei never did what Slaf did in the second half of last season, Slaf was an absolutely dominant 2 way player.I’m not interested in tools but no toolbox players. I think some fans here are still holding their breath for Andrei Kostitsyn’s breakout season (next year).
Not going to poo poo others who insist they love everything about Slaf. To each their own. Andrei Kostitsyn had many fans.
It was a great half season, that’s for sure. His let down this year has been extra disappointing and even bitter.Andrei never did what Slaf did in the second half of last season, Slaf was an absolutely dominant 2 way player.
I don't find them a good comparison. Kostitsyn was Lazy. But that one goal he scored and went flying in the air was awesome. I liked him, I really wanted to like him, but the laziness kept coming back, then the off ice issues, Kovalev being mad at him and his brother, etc.It was a great half season, that’s for sure. His let down this year has been extra disappointing and even bitter.
Love seeing him move his feet and shooting, makes me wonder why he can’t put a shift in regularly. Kostitsyn was the same.
And Slafkvosky is the model of moving your feet, is he?I don't find them a good comparison. Kostitsyn was Lazy.
He has all the time in the world, 8 seasons after this one in fact. Guaranteed money.Let's give Slaf some time to gain confidence in his body and abilities.
Slaf's weaker play comes from a lack of confidence. Kostitsyn never lacked confidence, he just didn't want it enough and was too distracted. He had all the physical tools to be a superstar. And Slafkvosky is the model of moving your feet, is he?

He will get more consistent as he gets older, but in the end I would be OK if he has like 60 very good games (e.g. last one vs DAL) per year. 40 in 2nd half of regular season and 20 in playoffs.2nd half of the season mode activated. expect 30+ additional points from Beastkofsky until the end of the season.
Sherwood have some of the best sticks, just not the same marketing budget as other companies who can lock down endorsement more easily. I’m sure many players are using different stick under the paint to respect their contract anyway
Sherwood Rekker series makes unbelievably light one piece sticksConflicting reports. We need a stick nerd to clear this up.
I still have him as a prototypical winger, read-react-crash type as well, but his tools are so good it works when he is in motion. I think he just needs xp to reach his ceiling. He’s known as a fast learner too.I’m not interested in tools but no toolbox players. I think some fans here are still holding their breath for Andrei Kostitsyn’s breakout season (next year).
