the Sharks obviously didnt like what was out there in the goaltending position. Probably would not have given Jones more than 5-5.25. But the Sharks would of taken a serious downgrade in goaltending if they let Jones walk so I probably would be ok with it in the end.
I know Vlasic is a underrated defenseman. but 8 years at 7 per? not a fan.

The Sharks really seem to trust their top defensemen. First the Burns contract, now Vlasic. They're two of the best d-men in the league, but those are long contracts...

I'm completely fine with Jones deal. They squandered a lot of good seasons on shoulders of ****** goaltenders for long enough and Jones is 27 so he is pretty much just entering his prime.

Vlasic deal is pretty costly though. I think that's maybe how Sharks fans viewed Voracek's new deal. Gonna hurt either way.

Fisher had a very good season but poor playoff. Maybe they will keep both?
