Rumor: JTM Trade Thread: Why did JT Miller bring a suitcase to practice?

AFAIK any playoff team in active trade discussions about their 1C is gonna create a lot of chatter, so I don’t see how the media is at fault here?
Great post. Of course the Media is going to create a firestorm of speculation and rumors in this situation. Outside of Vancouver, there is very little to report league wide from a trade perspective. As the cap opens up in the next few years there will far more activity. Reality is that Miller has yet to be asked to waive, nor has he been held out of any games. If he was so toxic and detrimental to the team, he would have been held out of the lineup until a deal can be done.

There have been multiple rumors/speculation about all of these deals over the past few years, yet none of the deals that the Canucks have actually made have been reported in advance. The Canucks front office is very tight lipped, and very little accurate info has ever been leaked.

Timeline this year:
Hoglander needs to be traded.
Desharnais being shopped.
Petterson being traded.
Miller on the outs.
Demko doesnt want to play in Vancouver
Boeser not willing to resign.
Tocchet gone.

A trade is one thing. What we have experienced this year is over the top.
If you stir up a fan base to believe change needs to happen it will happen. So now everything revolves around Miller instead of letting it die down and work its way out naturally.
Most the argument in this thread is from talking heads.
Canucks also put a warning about meddling.
So its done through media instead.

It plays a big factor. I wouldn't write it off easily on this issue.
This is a thread about JT miller and the fact that the canucks are actively engaged in trade talks about him. Are you saying it’s the media’s fault the team is looking to trade him?

First statement doesnt factor into the issue. Second is just you asking the same question that I answered.

If you are unable to grasp how media factors into the issue, there is really no need for back and forth.👍

Set aside the Miller valuation, Nikishin wouldn’t be made available save for a few players leaguewide. The days of mid-20s Slavin, Pesce and Hamilton are long in the rearview. It’s now a 30+ Slavin and not much else. Carolina really needs Nikishin to pan out for its own needs.
Do you think they would be willing to include Unger Sorum or Nadeau in a package?

Maybe, but I doubt it based on what’s been reported so far. I wouldn’t be shocked if they did trade one of them, they’re stacked with right shot forward prospects. Not all of the will get a shot in Carolina. I just think they’d only deal a Morrow/Nadeau/Unger Sorum in a package fir a player younger than Miller. That’s not to say I don’t think they should deal Nadeau or Unger Sorum for Miller, i just don’t see them doing so.

I think they’d be more likely to deal a pick or combo of Gunner/Heimosalmi/Badinka level prospects.

If Nikishin and Morrow pan out in the top 4, it's a massive window-extender for Carolina. No way would the Canes deal Nikishin, especially, outside of a true superstar.

I'm not sure if it's me, twitter, or what, but I have had the worst luck getting tweets (what are they now?) to show up. Anyone mind posting what was said?
I only watched through the Canes segment but...

Rangers discussions have cooled. They wanted Vancouver to retain and that has basically been a big barrier to continue conversations.

Carolina is currently top dog for JT. They've been talking with him and his agent, they're very aggressive to get something done and have presented multiple variations of a deal to Vancouver to continue talking.

Also followed it up that Carolina is also being very aggressive across the league to pursue multiple options to bring in help at forward.

What is he getting traded for?
Well he's not going for a mere .4 ppg soft as putty centre with mediocre defensive numbers and crap on the dot with a middling pick.

He's also most certainly bringing back two blue chips plus a top pick.

You know as well as the rest of us what the end result will be, but unless management in Vancouver or wherever Miller goes is absolutely gd inept he's gonna go for a solid return but not what people want or expect at all and no matter what happens,

People will be upset and walking back a lot of absolutes that they've made the last month or so
