Yeah no one has said anything but Sid makes way more sense to link to them than Miller is. I can't see them going after JT Miller unless they're absurdly fed up with the turnstile centers they've had since Kadri's departure after the Cup win.
Im gonna guess the Pittsburgh reference relates to either EK, M Pettersson, or Rakell, and may have nothing to do with CAR VAN or COL. Probably strategically timed by Weekes to maximize engagement.

I don't see Crosby leaving, at least this year.

Allvin would be smart if he caused an NYR/NJD bidding war after what Carolina did tonight
Agreed, a division rival loading up can cause this, especially when it's out of nowhere.

Don’t know if NJ is in this after the Markstrom injury
They should be, he'd solidify their top 6 and Markstrom is not out for the season...

NYR is on a heater so they are probably out on JT atm. Carolina just made their big move(s).

Price for Miller just went down big time
Maybe, I could see the bidding war happening, too. Maybe some adjusted parameters, now that CAR is out:, VAN should probably be looking for something like this:

From NYR: Chytil, Jones, 1st (only lotto protected), Sykora (go for the cap space to add to the team for cheap later, instead of taking on Lindgren, go after someone better. NYR has the cap to do this)

From NJD: Mercer, Tatar, '25 2nd (one of EDM or WPG's), '26 2nd (NJ - expect to finish better next year)

If the NJD trade happens, they could then deal Boeser for a C (CBJ for Sillinger, BOS for Poitras?) who can play top 6 or is close.

Don’t see Bruins including Poitras for Boeser. Bruins need more drivers not more guys who can do good things when someone else does the work.

Many have seemed to read this JT Miller situation wrong.

Rangers are not buying JT Miller.

Vancouver is trying to sell JT Miller and get the most they can. But 1 of 2 buyers just walked across the street and bought something.

Sell to the guy remaining or close up shop.
Unless, of course, another buyer shows up between now and the TDL. Or, also, if VAN decides to wait until the summer. Granted the latter notion is not going to happen because the media won't let them.

Everybody seems to think that the Rangers are the only team now, well sure, that’s a possibility, and it’s also a possibility that his trade value just dropped even more.

But what nobody seems to be mentioning is how in a weird way this could increase the value of JT Miller, because that’s one less big fish on the market, and also Colorado might be looking for a centre just like jt Miller , which adds them to the fray.

Not to mention, this could start some sort of arms race as well, teams might start to panic.

Just a thought

Canucks don't pull the trigger on the Necas - EP trade last year.
End up trading JT to Avs, to center Necas
Avs absolutely destroy the Canucks in every meeting until Hughes bails to NJ.

Sounds about right.

Would you have traded EP last year (when he was a 100 point Selke candidate) for Necas (who was a 60 point player at the time)?
EP sucked last year, was lucky to have 89 points. He has also never won, nor been nominated for a Selke.

I would have asked for a + to further lopside the deal, but yes.

Could see Avs clearing cap space in the Rantanen Deal to add Miller (could be somebody else of course but Miller seems a good fit) for Mittelstadt and the picks they got from the CAR trade if Miller is ok moving to Denver.

The Canes trade probably ruins some of the Canucks hopes when it comes to Miller but who’s to say the Canes don’t still go for it?

Miller shouldn’t last the weekend though. That effort against the Oilers was dreadful.

The room is a disaster and getting worse by the day. It’s to a point, trading Miller isn’t going to”fix” the room either. The problem is just going to shift to being Demko and a few others vs Petey’s clan.

Unfortunately the Canucks allowed this to get where it is. They probably have to trade both of them at this point. This is where you feel sorry for someone like Quinn, who just wants to play hockey.

What a mess.

JT Miller decides exactly where he wants to go. As of now, and for over a month, it has been 1 confirmed destination and speculation for the rest. The top most speculated competitor in Carolina is gone.

The biggest obstacle to a JT Miller trade is Aquilini, nothing else

dallas stars might be the darkhorse team?

It feels more like management has re-evaluated the team and doesn’t believe they can contend in Miller’s window of his best remaining years and as a result are looking to change on the fly, add some futures and dump Miller’s cap hit now and reinvest elsewhere.
then why did mgmnt resign miller in the first place to begin with... lose horvat and lose miller. keep petey seems like the logical reason? doesnt it.

And none of that matters if Miller won’t waive his NMC to go there.

I don’t know why Canucks fans keep ignoring the NMC and assume that Miller would waive anywhere that offers a good package for Miller.
