Actually I think they're both problems. But sure, if you want to see things as one sided, by all means. I'm glad you've got the lockeroom intel to clear that all up for us.
I'm not defending JT but earlier today I was thinking what was so badcof JT? Peterson is a grown man playing a professional sport. JT didn't hit him or anything physical so what was so bad? Some rude words?

Petterson showed up to camp out of shape - both tocchet and alvin said this
His practice habits are not good, Tocchet
this is after a summer where he signed for 11.6
A year after the Canucks were one goal from the WCF, and Petterson was a no show in the playoffs
He wears an A

Miller calls him out - he wears an A and is a leader and wants to win and understands to win, they needed Petey to live up to the 5th highest salary in the NHL
Eventually calls him a baby

Downhill from there

He was run out of town by a 11.6 mil brat who can't handle being held accountable by his teammates

I have no idea. But whatever it was, it was significant enough that both Pettersson and Miller were having down seasons, Miller needed to take a leave from the team, and he was averaging the least ice time he ever has as a Canuck.

I don't know if this point was made, but I really like this move as a retool precurser, especially with a little bit of luck on a dice roll. Say we avoid the worst-case scenario and end up keeping this year's pick in the 9–12 range, pick up a few more on expiring contracts (I really don't think it's too much of a stretch to hope Lindgren could return a late 1st, as much as we hate him), then retool using the Caps model.

We would potentially be back in the mix next year with a radically different look on defense than we did going into this season — with a potentially gamebreaking talent at C that provides an element that this team's forward corps is severely lacking.

It'd feel pretty awful if we picked 12/13 this year and somehow ended up giving Vancouver a higher pick next year, but I think that the likelihood of that happening is so small that you have to pull the trigger on this.
This pick is going to Pitt.

Leaders don't get so discombobulated by one player that they pout, mail in efforts (which Miller would definitely do sporadically) and take multi game leaves from their team.

And I've got nothing against Miller. I like the guy and I wish he was still a Canuck because as a fan of both teams I think he's what Canucks need more than Rangers currently. I just don't think hes an innocent victim in all this.

If both were equally as injury free would be a no brainer

Position-wise and play up to now yes. But maybe I'm making the same mistake I think people are making with Kakko and putting too much stock into his draft position but I still think Laf has more upside than Chytil.

I just find it a bit dramatic for an NHL player. I could see if it was physical but if JT was coming down on me I would just say whatever and go back to what I was doing.

Well, Pettersson turned to garbage last March, which is at least 7 months before the supposed feud between the two started. So I don't think we can strictly equate EP's poor play with a Miller clash. The question is, what caused miller's play to drop off this year?

Edit: so in a sense, maybe EP did say, 'whatever' and went back to doing his thing, which was playing at a 70 pt pace lol.
