That was my initial reaction. Could it be beneficial for Bedard to have someone like Miller on the team?
Seeing how Miller treated Pettersson as a young guy, probably not.

Chicago could really use him. Would be a huge help for Teravainen and Bedard.Chicago makes no sense for either party.
Retain 50% on Zibanejad and throw in Schneider, and 2nd, and a conditional 3rd.You can have Zibadejad for him. 1 for 1. Otherwise go away and leave us to our retool/rebuild.
How about no. Why does a team getting into a rebuild even want Miller?Retain 50% on Zibanejad and throw in Schneider, and 2nd, and a conditional 3rd.
Friedman says Vancouver has no interest in Zibanejad being part of any deal, he says if they did that deal would have been done by now (as in NYR has already offered it)
Friedman also says NYR has no interest in trading B Schneider.
There were also reports yesterday from Dhaliwal, that the Canucks arent a fan of K Miller.
So with that said, i believe the big target for the Canucks is Alexis Laferniere. Lots of connections there with Laf and Van with Emily Costanguay being Laf's former Agent and now Assistant GM with Canucks. Deal I can see:
Lafereniere
Chytil
Lindgren
for
JT
Desharnais
Add in picks to make it work value wise...
Is it Drury and/or Dolan’s plan to rebuild, or just the fans? How about no. Why does a team getting into a rebuild even want Miller?
to all the Rangers fan's that say "no deal, we should be rebuilding".
I think pretty much everyone would agree with you. IF the plan in indeed to rebuild then trading for a 31 year old stud and giving up young pieces would NOT be the way to go.
however, this is NY, i dont know if ownership would actually be willing to do that. i think the trade proposals in here come with the caveot of "they're not rebuilding, they want to push forward and try to make it work with this squad and an upgrade at 1C'
Actually, has management / ownership actually indicated they are OKAY to rebuild?
I think Miller wants to play in the US and was told they were going to try to move him. Maybe he’s would even accept a trade to a rebuilding team like Chicago.
Yes because I remember at the time of his extension there were talks of him not wanting to be there and moving him before they signed him. I remember Vancouver fans being upset at the GM that they weren’t able to trade him but were still confident they’d still be able to trade him either way the extension.I'm confused. After playing 3 years in Canada he decided to sign a 7 year extension to play in Canada again. Odd behaviour for a guy wanting to play in the US.
Thompson isn't entering his prime. His prime already began at least a couple of years ago. He's pretty much as close to 30 as he is to 25.
If Vancouver won't take back Zibanejad there's literally no deal to be had.
Rangers aren't trading picks/prospects/young roster players for Miller without sending salary the other way. That makes no sense at all for them.
If it's determined that both players need a change of scenery for reasons, then the swap with NYR adding a bit for value makes sense. If Vancouver doesn't perceive their locker room issues to be bad enough to move JT for that return then there's simply not a deal to be had.
that's great for NYRBrooks has reported that Drury and Laviolette have ownerships full support and that ownership understands the team might need to take a step back to take 2 forward again

That all goes out the window if we trade for Miller, which will include at least one decent young piece.Brooks has reported that Drury and Laviolette have ownerships full support and that ownership understands the team might need to take a step back to take 2 forward again
