I'm not a Canucks fan but I don't touch that deal from their persepctive
Sure, but the GM called out Pettersson publicly, and Quinn Hughes and Tochett both confirmed the rift with JT and Petey. As a nucks fan I can't wait till we start winning again so all these idiot media with absolutely no connections stop with the trolling.
All this drama has been so glorified by the outside and it's honestly ridicules. We are not trading a C or one of our best players in JT or EP, since any return would have to include a C as good so what's the point.
I know the truth isn't as exciting to explain why the nucks have struggled and are frustrated but the truth is no other playoff calibre team has had blow after blow since the start of the season. When combined with how bad some players were the first 10 games and Silovs and Demko costing us game game after game (Demko will be fine) reason says to add dmem with picks and prospects but any other move would be just dumb and I doubt it's even being considered.
Tochett on the other hand and his love for plugs and his terrible line combos is really begining to piss me off.
You've been trading JT since 2020, give it up man, neither him or EP will be traded in a package that makes us worse meaning they won't be tradedMiller makes 8 mill , Canucks arent retaining nor are they rebuilding. picks and prospect can be part of the package but it wont be the centrepiece.
if im a betting man, and Iam....its gonna be
Zib, KMiller and a 1st or 2nd.
Regular Season:In Canuck fantasyland… anything is possible
The canucks DO NOT HAVE TO TRADE HIM, he is signed long term, this is why you saying it would cost this package makes absolutely no sense. Some of you Vancouver fans are on crack with what they think they’d get in return.
If they trade him mid season, it’s going to be something like Zibanejad+moderate add(s). The salary cap and NMC are hurdles that most teams either can’t or won’t clear.
They should wait until the summer where more teams may be more motivated to move pieces off their roster because at least a few “contenders” are going to end up with shorter runs than they’re expecting to have and will want to change the shape of their roster.
Calling out a player means nothing and what Quinn and Rick said was so Vanilla and I'm sure could be said about any room in any sport.Sure, but the GM called out Pettersson publicly, and Quinn Hughes and Tochett both confirmed the rift with JT and Petey.
It's not just Rumors
That's fairCalling out a player means nothing and what Quinn and Rick said was so Vanilla and I'm sure could be said about any room in any sport.
The media is doing what it does in Vancouver when the team struggles and it sucks because people live for drama and these threads become littered with BS.
Not saying they will be best buds but for people to think it's as bad as it's being made out to be, are buying into the same shit we've seen countless times here.
I feel like the Canucks are getting fleeced there. Big downgrade unless Zib finds his game again. Have a 1-2 center depth of Petterson-ZiB would scare me too. Need some grit.Miller makes 8 mill , Canucks arent retaining nor are they rebuilding. picks and prospect can be part of the package but it wont be the centrepiece.

That's also fair, and it's also fine for Vancouver to say,In defense of the non-Ranger fans, you guys don’t watch or follow this team, so you don’t know how bad it’s gotten. The team is a dumpster fire, and the single biggest reason is the underperforming vets. They know it, Drury knows it, and everyone else who watches the team knows it. And Drury is already moving to tear those pieces out of the team. Reportedly (by Larry Brooks) with Dolan’s full support.
They don’t have the assets & team worth adding to for a JT Miller trade to make any amount of sense as an “add”. It’d be different if it was being done to get rid of an otherwise immovable contract in a “hockey trade”, but that’s unlikely. Lindgren and Bergen are UFAs. Kreider has only a 15 team NTC and a contract that could be a bargain with retention. A lot of the trade “offers” in this thread are ignoring the reality of the Rangers roster even before you consider the value. I’m not saying that Miller is only worth Zibadejad, I’m saying giving up more just doesn’t make sense.
Canucks not looking for a Futures dealthe Canucks fans are right to not want anyone from our shitty roster. they should be after Perreault, who I would only give up for Pettersson.

He is basically a PPG Center with all this "Drama"
That's also fair, and it's also fine for Vancouver to say,
Well, then we will gladly keep JT Miller and figure it out elsewhere.
Nobody gonna just dump a PPG Player this season and our 2nd best player in the last 3 seasons for nothing.
Thats fair, Rangers don't have to trade for him.The Canucks don't have to trade him but the Rangers also don't have to trade for him. The Rangers can easily walk away if the Canucks ask is bonkers, and it seems like both sides here are keen on making changes.
Trying to paint this as the Rangers being super desperate while the Canucks are content on not doing anything doesn't seem super accurate as a third party.
That's completely FairOh believe me I 100% agree. I’ve never said anything else. I just don’t see any sort of fit here from either teams perspective, which is what I’ve been saying all along.

lmao at Rangers thinking Zibanejad is anywhere close to Miller in value. He's negative value.
