He has a full, no trade clause, he would have to waive himself.

He’s been the second best Canucks player in the last three seasons.

Having a bad season alongside the rest of our roster.

Top 10 and scoring in the last three seasons, and the best player for us in the playoffs last season.

It’s gonna be very interesting to see how much this “rift” lowers his value if at all.

Honestly, I don’t think it does, especially if the Rangers go after him, they want him badly apparently.

A RHD will have to be included.

Still has 24 points in 26 games this season

I hope not. He's one of the few guys built for a playoff war on the roster. I think they can work it out over time. Please not Zib

Id guess it would be Zib ++. But who knows if he'd waive to go there in the first place and why would Nucks even want him rn.

Is Drury the worst GM in the league?

You can have Zibadejad for him. 1 for 1. Otherwise go away and leave us to our retool/rebuild.
A cap dump for a guy who’s been a 10 scorer in the last three seasons and the best player for us in the playoffs, where do I sign?

(And he has 24 points in 26 games THIS season, with all this crap going on)

I hope you don’t speak for the rest of the Rangers fans because, my god🤦‍♂️

I do apologize if this comes off as harsh

So that means a late 1st, mediocre prospect and massive cap dump should be enough.

Lol tell the NYR GM that, hes the one that is being reported to really really really want JT Miller.

IMO it will be something like..

Zib, K.Miller. 1st

Maybe switch K Miller to B Schneider depending on who Canucks prefer.

Ah yes, the same GM who’s got Dolan’s backing to rebuild the team, per an actual in market reporter (not a podcast host).

Miller for Kreider (salary dump), Braden Schneider and a 1st seems like a fair deal for both sides to me. Would shore up VAN's D and shake up the vet mix in NYR.

It’d make sense for Vancouver that’s for sure.

Lindholm who couldnt hold Millers shadow went for :

1st, 4th, Hunter Bruz

I believe that is the most recent trade of a high profiled Centre. I could be wrong.

Miller is going to return a Centre no matter what. There's other choice. I think theres going to be a huge demand for Miller. Especially teams looking for an Alpha and a culture change along with what Miller brings on the ice.

Some Centres I can see returning in a Miller trade as part of a package:

Zibanejad/Chytil
Cozens/Thompson
Necas/Jarvis
Barzal
Laughton/Frost

Vancouver would be wise to move JT Miller now—especially if it is for an overpay. I think he’ll reach his cliff sooner than later.

As long as they aren’t taking another cliff-prone player in return.

It actually doesnt make sense for Van. Kreider is great but unless he can play C then its no use to Van.

Current Centres on the roster after a Miller trade

Pettersson
Suter (hybrid)
Bleuger
Raty
Aman

Any trade involving Miller will almost certainly return a Centre.

The Rangers suck and as good as Miller is, a 31 year old isn’t the answer.

First of all, the defense is a joke. It’s Adam Fox followed by Schneider who is rounding into a decent #4, Miller who has absolutely had a step back in his development this year and is playing like an inexperienced bottom pair, Lindgren who literally deserves to be collecting full disability at this point and is held together by duct tape and staples and then a bunch of 7/8 D men like Borgen, Vaakanainen, etc.

They’ve been outscored 72-36 over their past 19 games. That’s nearly 4 goals allowed per game. Miller isn’t going to fix that. And Vancouver probably wants Schneider, which is technically our #2 at this point.

The only way it makes sense for the Rangers is if they’re getting rid of Zibanejad somehow. Same age as Miller and Miller has 100x the heart and motor. But it still wouldn’t fix anything; the team would still be in shambles with no defense and now the highest paid goalie in the world on the IR while the team is already on a 4-15 skid. Miller isn’t going to win them any games, he would just be a much better 31 year old center to have on your books than Zib is.

I just have to imagine that Vancouver can do better than whatever NYR offers, unless Miller specifically wants a return to NY. No one wants Zibanejad. Kreider is 34 and having a brutal year. Schneider is a nice piece but not enough to return Miller, and also a bad idea from NY’s perspective. They shouldn’t be trading a 1st. They only have one prospect with genuine value in Perreault, so they should probably keep him too. Chytil? Often injured but good when not hurt. Is Chytil + Schneider really a better return than other team’s can offer? Does it even help the Rangers?

It feels like the writing has been on the walls for weeks that Drury would push for and find a way to get Miller… just because something becomes inevitable doesn’t mean it’s smart.

I hope the Rangers trade picks and prospects for Miller

Miller makes 8 mill , Canucks arent retaining nor are they rebuilding. picks and prospect can be part of the package but it wont be the centrepiece.

if im a betting man, and Iam....its gonna be

Zib, KMiller and a 1st or 2nd.

But the fit seems weird to me. If Miller gets annoyed at EP for being "soft", wait until he has to be stapled to Panarin and Zibanejad full time.

Unless one of those 2 clubs has another deal in the wings to flip those assets to get a C. Van basically swapped Horvat out (1st from NYI plus their one 2nd in 2023, basically what they valued Raty at) to get Hronek not long after.
