I'm not going to speculate what's going on in his personal life.

However that statement to me reads the team told Miller to take time off. Something has been off with JT this entire season. He's been mopey, I noticed it when the press asked him about Lekkerimäki's first goal, his response was "I passed him the puck, he shot it, and it went in". That's not a response you expect from one of your better players. Even the benching and Tocc's comments post game, something seemed off.

I don't think it's out of question that something happened in the lockerroom with JT, either with a player or a member of the coaching staff, and the team felt it was best he didn't come on this road trip. Do I think Miller wants out? Hell no, but the dude is emotional, and I could see it rubbing some people the wrong way.

I'm just gonna say it - you would have to be oblivious not to notice the change in Pettersson's demeanor since Miller stepped away. There is or was something going on between those two. No point in speculating exactly what it is.

back in the original 'miller is toxic' days when everyone was speculating that miller and horvat didn't get along i heard from people who would know that they got along fine and it was really more of a veterans vs younger players split

I think you're way off here honestly. The biggest change in Pettersson happened when Boeser got hurt. When Miller left he knew he had to take it up another notch, and he did.

It was clear that Miller hadn't been right for a while, and all indications are that he had something going on personally. I really don't think it had anything to do with anyone else on the team.

He's "being mopey" because he's going through some shit and he's not in a good place mentally... which most likely has nothing to do with anyone else on the team.

And to be fair, that was also after a pretty dismal loss where where I wouldn't be surprised to see him pissed off.
