Uhh that statement doesn't inspire confidence. Makes it sound like he's in anger management therapy or something.

Man obviously this is 100% speculation since none of us know anything, but when I see this I can't help but think back to the pre-season interview with some new guys when Desharnais was asked what he learned about the Canucks and he said "JT Miller is an asshole".

Now don't get me wrong I'm not crying foul. If anything it was meant in a complimentary manner, had valid context, and was nothing out of the ordinary for hockey talk. But on the off chance JT is struggling with his mental health and the pressure of people constantly saying he's moody and such, that joke suddenly just hits totally different.

I hope I'm wrong and whatever is going on gets sorted and I'm spouting complete nonsense. Just something that I've been thinking about since this all started.

And now, after it gets talked about on an independent sports show.
Pettersson and Miller have issues between them for a long time.
That dusting up in practice might have been quite a bit more serious.
Suddenly players that really don't like each other doesn't matter in the room, that's what the current Rogers 650 radio show is saying, this time.

Boston wanting Miller in a trade, is brought up.

Another thing brought up was there has been not any comments from Miller's camp about the absence, it is all from the Canucks.

The statement is completely innocuous - if it's eliciting a response, it's likely from people projecting onto the situation vs. there being something to it.

Dude's away for personal reasons, and seeking help for whatever it may be is 100% normal. Half this board was clamoring for Petey to see a sports psychologist, and now JT goes for help and something's weird or off?

There's legitimately zero reason to speculate more after that statement than before. Leave the man be.

IMO this still appears to and would fit his volatile personality, plssed off and trade demand.

Can't list him as LTIR. Anyone can be listed on IR.
650 mentioned Boston was trying to trade for him in summer or something, maybe after the Boston game if that has any of this speculation has any traction?

The problem with the statement is that it implies there was something wrong with Miller as a teammate or player that required him to seek help, Allvin tried to be vaguely positive but instead inserted clues. Should've just said Miller was taking care of himself and that he'd be back when ready.

I agree there's not much use in speculating but sudden absences will always make people wonder.

I don't think Alvin's comments implied there was something wrong with Miller. I think its just a general recognition that people benefit from working on their mental health.

How the hell do you relate "seeking help" with being a bad teammate or player lol? There's no implication of the sort, it's just your bizarre interpretation.

You don't even know what the help is for.
