Canucks fan here, just ad a heads up JT Miller before this season was a top 10 scorer in the last three seasons.
He also was our best player in the playoffs last season.
He’s been really frustrating this season, but is your perfect example of a guy who can have a huge impact if things play out correctly.
Reminds me a lot of the tkachuk situation.
Not sure what his value is, considering all the drama this season, but I think he’s a good fit for New Jersey
He’s an elite playmaker
There's 0 shot the Devils would trade Nemec for Miller. Miller is soon to be 32 with a contract that runs until he's 37, with a NMC and reported locker room issues. The only way a Miller trade even makes sense for the Devils is if he costs little in assets to acquire. The thread keeps mentioning Nemec + Mercer.
What are your thoughts on that?
Thanks for posting, BTW.
Already being discussed in the news thread. As I said in the other thread this strikes me as Vancouver using the Devils as a stalking horse to drive up the price for the Rangers.
If you look at the history of big moves by one of the NYC area teams there is usually a rumor of one of the other to also being interested. Helps drive prices up. Especially in this case where Miller has a NMC so you need to float a local team out there that he would conceivably also wave to.
I’m not saying that. What I am saying is Miller has a NMC. It’s clear he would waive for the Rangers. But the Rangers aren’t putting forward a deal the Canucks would take. They having offered Mika (according to reports), but Canucks probably want Laf. If you are the Canucks and you want the Rangers to move off of their offer you need it to be known that the is another suitor who Miller would waive for is interested. Particularly one the Rangers would not want to see him go too.Why would anyone prefer NYC over NJ? Besides the NYC mythology, I'm not buying it.

That is assumption on my part. It has been reported by Friedman that Rangers made an offer for him that Vancouver rejected that is believed to include Zibanejad going the other way. Given that he previously played there and the interest that is seemingly out there, I am assuming he would waive his NMC to go back given the situation in Vancouver. I also assume he would probably waive for NJ given he has played in the area before.I missed this. When did he say he would waive for NY?
