If we won the Cup with JT Miller I don't think folks will be complaining. I get the hold on to the kids argument. But Kakko man we have waited and waited on him . At this point if he becomes anything close to resembling JT Miller that would be a big surprise. Not saying its Kakko but understood if they traded him for a star player. Miller had 99pts last year. And would be a huge boom to our 5 on 5 play in GGs system. Anyways rant over!

When JT Miller was the age Kakko is now you never would have thought he'd become the JT Miller of today either.

Hard disagree. Keep building around the kids and add two young centers.
Agree.

Pierre Luc Dubois should be the prime target, IMO.

Just turned 24 years old, two 60 pt seasons already, history of success with Panarin in CLB, could break out to 70+ point player. I'd trade for him and immediately lock him in long term at around $6mil per. When he breaks out he would be on a bargain contract.

Communists did
Without a Cap, certain teams could never win and franchises would fold, That means less cash for everyone, which you can bet could not happen.

Imagine a league without a Cap where Musk bought a team and put it in New Mexico and he signed the very best players in the league.

I prefer having a Cap.

Not really. Just look at our two best fowards right now.
Yes really. Very few forwards explode in their late 20's

Easy, Fidel.

Maybe Elon could start by buying the Yotes and getting them an arena before worrying about them becoming a perennial dynasty.

I am still leaning more towards Miller. Play-driving C's win you Cups. Kane is nice, but imagine having Zibanejad and Miller down the middle for 2022-23. You would think with Carolina losing Tro and DeAngelo, they are losing two major pieces, the Pens in a pickle with Malkin, aging roster, Caps, too, Lou is shot, Debbies need to prove themselves, Lightining in cap hell, Cats' future maxed out all for a first-round exit. Take the next and pull the trigger.

I want JT as well, but it needs to be at the rental price. I'm not trading a roster player for him at this stage of the trade negotiations, because clearly no one else is offering anything VAN wants.

Easy Benito.

When you remove a Cap, you lose any control of what an owner might decide to do. The notion that he might do it in a reasonable way in order to please you or for the good of the game is pretty funny considering how companies keep gobbling up other companies. Your thoughts are quaint but no longer reality.

$6M isn’t happening. He just got paid $6.65M (salary, not cap), so that’s his 1 year QO for this upcoming season. He’s not signing long term for less than that, and he’s also not selling out UFA years for the same amount per season as his QO either.

Long term (5+ years), he’d be looking for at least $7M per, and more likely closer to $8M. $7.5M per might be the sweet spot.

I say we trade all the kids for whatever near washed up superstars we can get.

1997-2005 was the best time to be a rangers fan lets do it again!
