Sent back to Laval
All signs point to Laine being cleared.
Shocker

To take away his confidence.Agreed. Play him with talent or leave him in Laval. Why’d they bother calling him up?
Yeah.To take away his confidence.
I hate the idea of trading this guy. So much talent. But he needs to be used with other talented players. I've made the comparison before but he's basically a Luc Robitaille type player stylistcally. I would love to keep him because I think he has so much potential.Yea he's 100% trade bait even if he does step it up.
Too many smurfs on this team as is

He doesn't seem to have earned his way on to the top 6...................why on earth would they put him there? And alienate guys on the team who without a doubt are ahead of him, and are still in the bottom 6 ( Heinaman, Gally, Dvo, Anderson even )Yeah.
Worst thing we could do. Either you bring him up and play him or just let him be. The team is such a mess right now I don't know why they wouldn't just leave him in Laval. Unless you're going to give him top six time, don't bother bringing him up. Yo-yo'ing him isn't going to help him.
But the thing is, he probably won’t ever be a top 6 in the NHL. He either won’t make it or he needs to be effective on a 3rd line.Yeah.

Sent down? Davidson? Laine?
There really isn’t even a top 6 right now. There is a first line, a 3rd line and the rest.Don't even know why they called him up if they weren't going to give him serious looks in the top 6. Still didn't look good enough to stick around and with Laine back it's a no-brainer.
Hudon can skate? Never heard anyone say that before lol.Like I said when he got called up, I can't see Roy becoming a regular NHLer. Charles Hudon 2.0 but at least Hudon can skate.
To be fair, the odds that he can outperform one of Demidov, Caufeild, Slaf are very low. That leave only one spot on the top 6 for a W. Should Laine stay or Dach move to the W permanently, he'll need to play on the 3rd line and his play style doesn't seem to fit for that role. i'm also incline to trade him for something the team lack elsewhere... I wanted him to succeed here but that is looking less likely.I hate the idea of trading this guy. So much talent. But he needs to be used with other talented players. That being said, he's not really a play driver. He's not physical and we have a lot of players with his profile. That makes him vulnerable to a trade. As others have pointed out, I'm sure Chicago would love the guy. Bedard raved about him and I bet he'd be very happy to have a skilled player to go to town with. The funniest thing about that scenario though is that he'd probably kill it and everyone here would scream about us trading him away...
I would have tried him with Suzuki and Cole. People may laugh because Newhook is working hard but it takes a special level of bad to only have 5 points with all these chances despite "working hard". Sure Roy doesn't deserve it although I don't know how you can make the argument that most of the other guys deserve their current role too. There really isn’t even a top 6 right now. There is a first line, a 3rd line and the rest.
He's a lot better skater than Roy will ever be lolThere really isn’t even a top 6 right now. There is a first line, a 3rd line and the rest.

I think MSL hoped he would show up and show he wanted it.Don't even know why they called him up if they weren't going to give him serious looks in the top 6. Still didn't look good enough to stick around and with Laine back it's a no-brainer.
I think Roy could be part of a really strong offensive third line with Beck and Newhook. Roy's also good enough to play in the top six if somebody got hurt.To be fair, the odds that he can outperform one of Demidov, Caufeild, Slaf are very low. I was as high on him as anyone else here. I thought we had found a major diamond in the rough getting him in the 5th round. Sadly, now I see why he went unclaimed until we picked him. Then again, hopefully he's a late bloomer a la Kaprizoff but I just don't see it.He hasn't shown anything to stick. Even with this team. So... a) sad - though he was a good prospect b) back where he belongs - laval.

I just get vibes of "maybe too good for the AHL but just can't cut it in the NHL"
