Prospect Info: Joshua Roy Part 2

The Habs have time with Roy, he can go back and forth between Laval and the Habs next season, and then we'll see how his off-season goes next summer and how he does at the following camp. I don't like how the Habs have handled him but it's up to him to keep working on things and he will either get the message or he won't, only time will tell.

For now he and Mailloux are in tough spots as they are almost too good for the AHL but haven't shown they are ready for full time NHL duty. If the Habs were more in the boat of say the SJ or the Hawks, you can easily carry prospects like them and hope it works out, but if you are trying to make the playoffs or contend then that's a very different story and you may not be able to carry them. What Hughes has planned for the team is going to be very interesting to see.

If we don't fully intend on bringing them up then I think we should deal them over the summer. Right now they have value. No reason to squander it. They can help other teams - especially older ones who are looking for an injection of youth.

Otherwise I'm more than happy to see Roy in the lineup. I was expecting it last year and under different circumstances it might've happened but Dach being so bad had a spillover effect onto Roy. Even if we want to criticize Roy, the team was a mess out of the gate apart from the first line... really hard to succeed under those circumstances. And credit to Heineman, he stole Roy's spot.

I don't know where he fits now. We have Demidov and Caufield playing similar roles. Where does Roy go? I think he goes to another team.
