Josh NORRIS vs Dylan Cozens

Even putting aside the injury thing with Norris, i think this is pretty comfortably Cozens for me.

The production is pretty similar in terms of ups and downs and what those "peaks" can look like...but Cozens has all the physical tools and potential to impact the game in other ways on his side. And the slightly cheaper contract. Norris is probably the slightly more polished two-way player at this phase, but there's no reason to believe Cozens won't get there and even surpass that at some point.

This feels pretty conveniently timed, to where Cozens has struggled a bit this year and Norris has been decent, but in the grand scheme of things, i'd still take Cozens and count on a bounceback.

Now...if you do include injury/durability concerns, it becomes an absolute no-brainer.

You would have to give Norris the huge edge in goal scoring ability, which I didn't see you mention. I thought when you were saying Norris was the more polished 2 way player that you would also mention the big difference in goal scoring.

Norris 79 goals in 205 games. (32 per 82)
Cozens 70 goals in 302 games. (19 per 82)

Different class of goal scoring ability shown in the NHL to date.

I prefer Norris but I think both at this point are better suited as wingers

Cozens : career 0.23 GPG, 0.58 PPG which is a 19 goals, 28 assists, 48 pts per 82 games stats line on average

Norris : career 0.39 GPG, 0.67 PPG which is a 32 goals, 23 assists, 55 pts per 82 games stats line on average

Cozens looked like he could have ran away with this based on his 2022-23 season but so does Norris with his 2021-22 season. Norris has been slowed down big time by injuries but it looks like it might finally be behind him. He's also easily the better 2-way player and much better on face-offs..

This can really go either way but no idea how could someone have a "pretty comfortably Cozens for me" opinion when the facts are clearly showing the opposite.

What? Norris is 53.2% on face-offs and plays a complete 200 ft game, he's a pure center

Norris is a centre, better defensively, and scores more. Maybe Cozens has more potential but injuries aside have to take Norris.
