What will it take to get him to Vancouver? Seems like a good target for us because of his connection with Q Hughes.

His injuries do scare me a bit, but we gotta do whatever we can to keep Hughes in Vancouver long term.

Something around Boeser might be work, but Norris has gotten consistently better and more confident since returning and looks like he can be anywhere from a 25-35 goal, 50-65 pt all-situations C. In the new cap era, his deal is easily digestible. He is an important player in Ottawa and I get the sense that it might take someone like Garland or ROR, for example (i.e a good, inexpensive 2nd liner with term), for Ottawa to look seriously at moving Norris.

Some would disagree and say get out of his deal ASAP by any means… I say that discussion has been deflating since his return and is almost dead with the new cap agreement

I'm assuming that Chytil would be the guy they would have to send back for cap reasons. Then it would depend on whether they are looking for help now or later.

Chytil or a top prospect

So not happening

The LTIR jokes are justified, but Norris has been a pretty damn good player for the sens.

He's winning faceoffs, being physical and coming up big for them.
Yup, which is why he isn't going to get traded. Sens are playing their best hockey in 7 years. WTF would they trade their leading (tied) goal scorer?

I mean sure, if someone wants to gift us a trade for a better player, but we aren't the Rags so that ain't happening.

Boeser straight up?

This is something I thought about the other day when looking at the Vancouver roster.

I think it would be too risky for the Senators to do when everything is clicking. If they do a deal like that right now, they must be really scared of the condition of his shoulder.

Norris is playing extremely well right now. He keeps getting minor injuries. He left tonight's game with an apparent lower-body injury. As both are playing right now, Boeser is a downgrade with the only immediate benefit being that he is right handed, and they badly need another right handed winger who can score in the top 6.

Vancouver badly needs a 2C, and Ottawa badly needs a right handed winger. They already have Pinto and Greig who can play as the 2C and 3C. So I can see why it might make sense on paper if the Sens really want to get out of the Norris contract and don't care if Boeser walks. The timing just seems wrong to me.
