Right, I’m hopeful it’s different, but wasn’t the arthritis issue due to prior injury? I don’t know, I just thought that was the thing. Same with Hemsky, kinda? I believe he said it was shoulder issues that actually shut ‘er down.
Just tryin to gain knowledge here, I really hope it’s different and he comes back strong.
I believe with Klefbom the arthritis was something he tried to manage over a couple years before going for surgery and when he went for surgery to correct it, they knew there was a chance that he might not get to a point where he would be able to play again. The procedure was to address the arthritis, nothing suggests that’s the case for Norris.
From what I gather Hemsky didn’t have reoccurring injury to the same shoulder, rather surgery each one. Later in his career it was a hip injury and concussions that caused him trouble. The Athletic is a great resource for learning about players after hockey and going through injuries.
Josh Norris and Adam Mascherin are much more similar in missed time than Tarasenko.
How are you coming to that conclusion? Norris played two full seasons between 1st and 2nd surgery. Tarasenko played one. Norris and Tarasenko had the 3rd surgery one season after the 2nd.
Norris also had his third surgery done by the same surgeon as Tarasenko so I’m guessing the nature of the injuries and the procedure done are similar.
