Versteeg 1 year contract being paid less than a million.
I can't think of anything Bailey does better than him.
Although he just came off a 4 mill multi year deal.

Okay, but there are several more comparisons that show he's pretty close to getting paid comparable to other players in the league with the same out put. The list has been there before and PK would know better than I do, but I remember at least Lars Eller being on there and he actually got traded even with that contract. There are more comparisons like that as well.

Its telling that this thread is pretty much only Islander fans. Other fans simply don't care enough about him to comment. And that includes negative comments. He's kind of just....there. Not the worst contract in the league, but warrants at least an honorable mention. There's always the potential of him being better than a JAG, but it hasn't evolved thus far.

Agreed. I don't particularly hate Bailey, he just never lived up to his contract and doesn't stand out in any way, except for when he falters when put in situations he doesn't belong, which is the coach's fault not his.

There's no interest because in a world full of bland NHL players, he's the off-white/beige wallpaper.

As a versatile player Bailey serves a purpose, but he has never become what the Isles hoped for. Not a scorer, not a playmaker, not a difference maker.

His value in a trade sense isn't much but a like for like type deal is the one most likely

I've tried to say good things about him on here, but I can't.

I actually do think he'd be good in a change of scenery. The best place for him IMO is Ottawa. They could use him to replace MacArthur temporarily and he gets to play at home.

Small detail, and it's not really important, but since Josh is from one street behind me, I should say that Ottawa is over 3 hours from home.
