Player Discussion Josh Anderson - The WORKHORSE Edition

Funny how no one cares about him being “overpaid” right now, ditto for Gallagher…this is why I’ve kept repeating over the years that those kind of labels are meaningless, it’s all relative to how the team is playing.

If the team is competitive, no one will care that Josh Anderson is making 5.5M to play in the bottom 6, these things only become issues when your team stinks.

With the advent of the cap, at some point, support for players became conditional to how much value they brought relative to their contracts…I guess it’s the time we’re in, but it becomes a way better experience when you separate those two things, trust me.
Plus, a guy like Gallagher was underpaid for a while.

No he hasn't. He was his regular self to start but around when the team turned it around, he really changed his play.
He's played like this all season. With his new role on the team to start the year, he's been an excellent forechecker/energy guy and PK player. Anything he adds offensively is a bonus, which he is doing more as of late. There's more to winning than putting up points.

People say that Montreal fans are harsh and hard to please but I think that's BS. Josh Anderson has hit rock bottom on more than one occasion in a Habs jersey but the fans at the Bell Centre still appreciate what he brings.

He has played through some shit this year but keeps going. He has embraced the role given to him by the coaching staff and has been a pleasant surprise.

I have been very critical of him in the past but it is easy to do that from a keyboard. He has been a warrior this year and he deserves some praise.

This boards attitude towards Anderson certainly changed in last 2 years. Same guys who wanted him bought out or retained just to dump him. Are same guys who bragging him up now. Odd!
