Player Discussion Josh Anderson - The WORKHORSE Edition

We have reached the *Shooting pucks by himself* stage of the drought.

You can do it Andy ~~~

I give him a lot of shit, but I'll never question his work ethic or heart.

It's his hockey sense that is by far his biggest weakness. It's beer league level.

It’s an incredible streak of bad luck.
An incredible streak of bad luck that he's had happen multiple times in his career?

Worst part is that there are 3 more years of this @$5.5M...such a bad signing but I really hope he somehow becomes somewhat worth his bloated salary again.

In couple years the Anderson, Dvorak, Gallagher types be off the team. Hughes will be able to replace them with the Newhook, Dach, Guhle, Beck types. We see good team then.

Right now those contacts are unmovable. Holding us back. But nothing we can do right now.

MSL needs to chill with the ice time

We need to get Anderson producing if we want to trade him. That contract has negative value now.

He produced at a pace of 32 goals over 82 games last year once RHP was recalled. I was looking forward to seeing if he could do something similar this year, playing with RHP. But for some reason, they weren't playing together.

Best I can hope for, is when RHP comes back they are reunited, whether with Monahan, Dvo, or Suzuki as their center.

Yeah................ this is a train wreck so far. 20 games in, I can say that he's out of it this year, for no reason other than his own fault.

He's getting every opportunity possible to get going. He's the ultimate line killer. Wow how bad is this going to end?

And, I LIKE the player. Open season on criticism.

I don’t think he play very different than he always has, he’s just unlucky at this point most games, that’s the difference with other years. But i don’t think he play worse per say.

What happens if Anderson is still goaless in say...another 8 games?
Do you keep at it? You you demote him? Do you sit him? Does he come down with a mysterious injury? Does he even get waived? I am curious what folks think will happen if this continues?

I have in all of years of watching hockey never seen a routine 20 goal scorer all of a sudden stop scoring.

I like the player when he is contributing in other ways. When you aren't scoring and bringing nothing else it becomes ultra frustrating. He has no push back during after whistle scrums...

Vancouver sat Kuzmenko for a "reset" so to speak

A much better player..... in MTL, Andy keeps getting rewarded

I don't think Anderson is being rewarded.

He's not a moron and neither is MSL. They both know he's slumping hard. MSL is just choosing this strategy to get him out of his funk.

Honestly, I blame St louis for thinking he was the guy who'd solve the case of josh Anderson and filling his pretty little head with fanciful stories of 'passing' and 'turning'. These new, invasive ideas have pushed out the few concepts Andy had already mastered, such as 'skate in straight line' and 'shoot puck'.

There is validity to this comment.

Apparently he could have traded Anderson for a 1st.
