Player Discussion Josh Anderson - The WORKHORSE Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

No need to fight both Anderson and KK suck.

One skates like the wind, the other looks like Bambi on ice. Both equally useless in my book.

Anderson has shown no chemistry with any line cause he is tunnel vision.

Its no surprise the was moved around the lineup so much.

Tuch did something Anderson always and never does on a rush. Both drive the wing but Tuch has the sense to look for a late man when he sees he cant make a strong cut. Anderson has his head down and eats it in the corner and losses the battle

Anderson being horrid defensively also means you are limited on which center and matchups you can use against

And just for the record Anderson's never had a game as bad as Rene Bourque's stretch here. That dude was all-time bad. You guys got short memories. Gomez-Bourque-Kaberle-Campoli; what a frickin terrible roster. Bourque put up like 30 points in 200 games here..

Anderson needs someone to pass him the puck. That's all. He won't make the skill play. He won't position himself like Caufield.

He needs someone to make the play and get him the puck off the rush ala Suzuki.

As i mentioned in another thread. We dont have x2 Suzuki. The solution is getting another offensive minded center to play with him.

Let KK cycle with Armia and Lehkonen.

Tuch also back checks and strips players of the puck and then goes the other way for a chance.

Ander son skates back to the wrong open space, then decides to go puck chasing when there's no need to, leaving an open man to go to the open space that used to not need to be covered but now is supposed to be ...

What really blows my mind is how bad he is Defensively, like he plays like those young snipers coming up from the QMJHL that run around in their own zone, minus the sniping

Seriously I'm getting some McCarron flashbacks from him right now. Anderson doesn't know where to be, doesn't skate hard, doesn't make plays, he just goes for the big hit for no particular reason and then he's even further behind the play.

Anderson has 1 goal, 1 pt in like 2 months. Excuses need to end

Lot of people thought he was overpaid/injury risk for the term he got. But even the most pessimistic wouldn't have guessed he'd fall off after 30 games. Thought he'd be good for at least 2-3 years.

Can we get Galchenyuk back?:laugh::laugh:

hilarious!

and the sad thing is that, if he builds off of the maturity he finally started to show in Toronto, has himself a good offseason, and finds a good landing spot as a UFA, he very well could have a much better year than Anderson next season... in 46 games with the laffs, he matched Josh's ppg in the regular season (despite 3 minutes less/game of ice time), and was far more impactful in the playoffs.

how funny would it be for the end result of the Galch - Domi - Anderson saga be that we end up with the most expensive and least productive of the bunch (my god would there be a shit ton of crow to be had around these parts :biglaugh:

Why called the "Rene Bourqe Edition", didn't Bourque score in the POs?
Explained it already. They both had the potential to be so much more than they are but they both don't care enough to actually apply themselves consistently.

And sure, Bourque performed in the playoffs... but he also didn't perform in the regular season and his team usually didn't make it because of that!
