Confirmed with Link: Josh Anderson Is Habs' Bill Masterton Candidate

Everyone knows my feelings on him since he got here.

But something changed in about December. I think he really bought in to what he needs to do rather than what he thinks he can do.

He's been fabulous of late. His hockey sense hasn't improved, but it's not a big deal when he just makes the easy play and/or uses his big body. Without him trying to be a finesse player - he's became a really fun player to watch and a key part of this team.

Congrats to Anderson for coming back to this year and having a solid season this year.

Monahan is the Blue Jackets nominee and I hope he wins it with everything he has gone through this past year
I f***ing loved Monahan.

We got paid to take him and he was absolutely awesome.

Wish he was still here. He'd be f***ing bonkers with Demidov.

I think he was quite badly broken for a quite a while and slogged away. There's a reason why he's got the nomination.
Yes he was terrible last season and gave up midway through the season despite being paid well and given opportunities other players would kill to have.

Carey Price and others battled back from devastating injury, painful rehab, the tragic loss of immediate family and friends…

Patrik Laine was allegedly suicidal and he came back to hockey and played with a leg brace and partially torn ligaments and persevered through issues internal and external to him.

I guess my point is that I don’t feel Anderson should be rewarded for simply deciding to give a shit on a 5.5m salary for a second straight year.

Jesus tap dancing Christ!
Laine should've been the obvious choise here!
Seems like he's really deep in the doghouse if he can't even get the nomination for the Masterton on his own team. Would've had a good shot at winning it too with his injuries and mental health struggles...

It's sometimes a weird trophy, there are years where you have no good candidates and there are years like this one where you have multiple worthy candidates. Any of Anderson, Gallagher, Dvorak, or Laine could've been nominated and it would have been appropriate.
