You also seem to underestimate how important having a goalie who can handle the puck is

Instead of one that handles it like a live grenade. You're gonna have a much harder time with the dump and chase.

Our fan base hates him because they decided they like Stolarz. Same shit, another day with Leaf land. Just like we can't like both Marner / Nylander or Matthews / Tavares. When one is going well and we like what we see, the attention goes to the other.

Woll was incredible once again in game 4, had the rest of team played even half as well as he did, we'd be up 3-1 now. Let's hope for a better performance tomorrow. GLG!!

It's an issue, but it's nowhere near as bad as the moments where he goes behind the net to play the puck and then ends up missing it - it confuses the D, and plays right into the hands of the Panthers forecheck.

Felt like he was under much firmer instructions to play the puck less in game 4 - hoping that remains the case for game 5 onwards. I want no part of the puck on his stick

it just so happens that poor game is the reason we weren't up 3-0 and aren't up 3-1

two things are true:
1. Woll cost us game 3 and the killshot in the series

2. The team completly bailed on Woll in game 4 and gave the panthers all the momentum

all they needed was a save from woll in game 3 OR for the team to just show up in game 4 and we are up 3-1 not even talking about the players or the goalie

unfortunately that's not where we are, and results dictate thoughts on players, including the goalie.

Can’t change the past. Can only hope that going forward Woll will provide the team with the strong and reliable play we saw when he came in for relief of Samsonov in 2023 and 2024. Unfortunately it seems like Bobrovsky has finally settled in too. Probably not going to see any more barn-burners in this series.

A goalie should never be expected to steal an entire series. If he can outplay the goalie on the other side, not sure you can ask for more than that. If he can outplay him by a huge margin, that's even better and sometimes it's enough just to be close.

People oversimplify things way too much (see the people blaming him alone for losing game 3).
