I love the guy because of the effort and drive but yeah those fine touches are just not there. He’s young so i guess it will be interesting to see what his ceiling for improvement could be

In that commercial where the cheerleader tries to cheer up the band geek they zoom in on her hand at the very end and go fuzzy with all the words over it but they dont freeze it so you see her take this awkward step almost out of frame but not quite. Its funny but also just absurd how many times they show these same commercials to notice something like that

Good officiating. About time our players get some protection.

It was mega-important we win the faceoff and not allow MIN to auto-kill 20 seconds by getting a free icing. After the draw, I'm not even sure Staal touched the puck. He planted himself in front of the net and didn't mess anything up for 51 seconds. Credit where credit is due.

Gardiner Hamilton would be a complete disaster defensively. I think there's a reason Rod uses Slavin with Hamilton and it's because it works. Slavin Pesce is a great shutdown pairing but limited in offense.
