Is it finally time to admit that Jordan Staal is the better Staal?

Erik Staal hasn't aged well. He went from an elite 1C to a barely 2C within just 1 year, while Jordan Staal still is a solid 2C.

Eric Staal | 34 | 81 GP | 52 PTS
Jordan Staal | 30 | 50 GP | 28 PTS

:help:
As much as I disliked Grandlund, I think Fiala is even worse. Also, Parise is ageing. Zucker has always been overrated. Jordan gets to play with better players at his 2C position and Haula won't ever steal his 2C spot.

Don’t be surprised to see Jordan put up close to career numbers this year, assuming he spends most of it with Svechnikov and Teravainen. Last year that trio tore up the league down the stretch as Teravainen made the step up to become an extremely solid 200 ft player capable of driving play from the wing.

If he can stay healthy, Staal just needs to be a bulldozer in the opposition’s zone to make room for Svechnikov and Teravainen to work their magic.

I know this doesn’t exactly pertain to the topic of brother v brother, but it’s been so long that the Canes have served us up anything to look forward to, so I am not used to showing restraint in my excitement about the team.

this would have been a better post when he sucked on the rangers. erik has been pretty good since he went to the wild and jordan was injured for a bunch of last year.

Maybe if Eric stays around or below last year's numbers, but he still scored more last year than Jordan ever has and had a 42 goal season the year before.

As we've heard every year for his entire career. Still waiting for that untapped offensive potential we kept hearing about in Pittsburgh.
For 90% of his Carolina career he’s played with high end talent like Nathan Gerbe, Patrick Dwyer, Andrej Nestrasil, and Joakim Nordstrom. I should also reiterate that I believe the uptick in production will exclusively come down to line mates and this being the deepest Canes team he’s played on in a long shot. Anyone is going to put up better numbers when they start centering two game breaking talents instead of the likes of Drayson Bowman and Zach Boychuk.
