when it comes to D there are a few things I look at. While he 28pts he got only 4 goals. 5 pp points, he averaged about 17 minutes a game, 86 shots on net, 80 hits and 77 blocks. 16 PMs.. Spence is 5-11 and 190. Not the biggest guy on the planet. IS his out put based upon him or the team he played on?

He's a good two-way player that as-yet has some upside and thrives against depth. Excellent metrics, has carried some of the worst d-men in the NHL to respectability the last couple of years, including Englund.

As usual Kings' handling of their own players is stupid as f*** and someone else will reap the benefit of a guy who could still really break out.

i’d say thats balanced out by the fact that he’s a center and a better player than robertson. dallas isnt a great spot themselves, they dont really have the space to sign him to the 12M+ per extension he’s gonna get next season without doing some serious cap maneuvering. I expect him to return a high 1st/decent prospect or mid first/good prospect

Spence can be a good 5/6 regular season guy but he just doesn't have the necessary tools to survive the playoffs. Small but not an elite skater, not able to lean on bigger players, not great on the PP. Just kind of pedestrian. I could see a non playoff team needing a depth RHD taking a swing at him but the return won't be great IMO.

Spence and pick #24 for Rakell makes a lot of sense to me as a base of a trade. I'm just not sure Kings fans on here would be down for that, I figure they'd want to get someone younger if giving up that kind of value.

I'm still a Spence believer. Hiller is a twat for how he has misused him...and Clarke.

I do agree that Spence and Clarke are similar style players, and probably is not best to have both. Clarke has the higher upside so makes sense if you are going to move one to move Spence. Spence thought is way better positionally defensively.

Move him to the wild for Rossi, and let's see what a Blue line with Faber and Spence could look like just to rally troll us king fans.
