While true, the whole team has been dogshit. The main gripe is when asked about Berube he said something along the lines of “no comment, he’s not my coach anymore”. That’s where the boos for him specifically are coming from.

The only problem is, only one of our 3 main beat writers have said that’s what he said, and the one that said it is known to…fluff some things for clicks. So take it as you will.

Kyrou didn't play the style Berube liked, he's a way more offensive player who isn't very smart defensively. Berube also liked to call him out quite a few times. No matter what Kyrou did it always ended with him getting barked at by Berube.

I mean Kyrou’s stats mostly suck this year because he is shooting 5% and not his career average 14%. He will get hot and have 70+ at the end of the year as usual. His skating and skill is too good not too even if the Blues are having a down year.

That said - it’s been obvious for years now that Kyrou isn’t the most engaged 200’ player. He’s a good fantasy stats player who when he isn’t putting up those numby’s - it’s very easy to pick apart the rest of his game. It’s not surprising at all that he and Berube butted heads over the years.

I’m not saying it wasn’t time for Berube to go. But I’m not sure Kyrou has been willing to work on the faults in his game either.

Yes they are. And I doubt you have even watched many of his games this year. He is trying much harder defensively than he did last year.

I’m not even a Kyrou apologist, I’ve criticized him plenty on the Blues’ board. But the fans aren’t even booing him because of his play, they’re booing him because he said “no comment” when asked about his relationship with Berube. If you’re a fan that gets upset about that and boos him because of it, then you’re pretty damn soft.
